Best battery for back up sump pump

I figure I would update this old thread. My system is still up and running however I have not needed it as an emergency battery back up sump. I do test it often for function. I have all my water systems piped into a drain system dumping it all into my sump pit. Monthly hot water tank drain, system repairs/additions and seasonal garage draining. I still works as designed and no trouble with charging or battery function.

I do test battery voltage and have run a load on it a few times and it seems to be ok.

Hi joseywales, now we are getting close to two more years and still all is well. I still do my draining and testing. The battery and charging still in spec. Maybe take it in some day to do a full load test just for assurance.

Even if I needed it for the time to get the genny running (or trying) and pluged in it is well worth it. If it looks like no power for a few hours I should be able to rely on it alone.
