here's mine, yeah it's filthy. Best pics i can find and i aint draggin it out to get better ones lol. It has 2 grinders on a turntable to save room. But now I have 3 more grinders I just clamp to the welding table if these won't do what I need.

A better pictue and everyone would say how awsome that is. Great job

my early 70s vintage Rockwell/Delta grinder is on its original Rockwell stand...

This one is not mine but I saved it cause it was a good idea. I have both a sander and the bench grinder so I plan to mount them this way one day.

Right now I have a rolling cart that has both mounted to it. It's lacking the mass but beats the car rim walking on the floor. For stand bases, I like a 14 bolt dually brake drum as they are major beef.

Yeah, I know I'm bumping an old thread;

Are there are stability issues with stands like the one in the quote? I made an impulse purchase earlier today on Amazon. For $35, delivered in two days, I figured what the heck.

I bought this one at Tractor Supply. Priced at $49, picked up the floor model (only one left) and got 15% off so really only paid $41. Weighs just at 38lbs, fair quality nothing special. PITA to get it all level.

I have one I bought at Princess auto. Cheap but I have been really happy with it.

Same as this one

I have a smaller grinder that I bolted a piece of square tube to the bottom and I clamp it in my vise when i want to use it.

Well, for $35 delivered in two days (surprisingly, by the USPS), I gotta say the Wen grinder stand isn't half bad. I just grabbed an $80 Delta 6" variable speed grinder from Lowe's and the entire setup is surprisingly stable.

For the amount of use it'll see, I think it's a good setup. I might run to the local metal scrap place and see if I can find a longer tube, though. It's a bit short for me.

I finished a highly portable grinder stand this last summer.

It's powder coated for durability, employes sealed ball bearing casters with rubber tires and has adjustable rubber pads on the bottoms of all three feet. Lots of pictures and more details than you would ever want to know about it can be found starting here on page 277:

See post #5528 and then continuing on the next page, 278, see post #5542. Take a look, I hope it might help.

Nice Wissota grinder too. They built grinders for other companies as well until they gave up trying to compete with the cheap Asian imports.

I,m in wheelchair most of the time in shop and I mounted mine on pc of 3/4 in laminated oak and mounted all that using strap hinges that I bent a bit to bottom side of bench, flipping it up and on bench as I need it. Have off /on switch mounted to that pc of oak .Works great for me.Paul
