20 volt limits you mostly to Dewalt or some cheesy store brands.

Ebay is the best place for these things. Brand new at 40-50% discount from the big box stores. I highly recommend a Makita 18v impact driver.

as said ebay is great for most items, BUT sometimes check HD, Lowes etc. for closeouts. Everything I have is 18 volt DeWalt and they have given good service for years, heck I even run the grandkids electric cars with the batteries. Want to see a 12volt toy/ car fly, hook a 18V battery to it, been doing it for a couple of years and it hasn't burned out a motor yet! As an example a couple of months ago was in Lowes and they had a 18 Volt 4 piece Dewalt combo,1/2" drill, 1/4" impact, sawzall, light, 2 batteries, charger and case for 179. Dewalt is pushing their 20V and getting rid of the 18V stuff, bring it on!

HD and Lowes both have good Black Friday specials on 18V and 20V cordless drills & combos that are going on all weekend.
Home Depot has some buy 2 18/20v & get one free and some buy 3 18/20v get two free deals going on.
Lowes has a 20V Dewalt drill for $99, and 2pc 20v Dewalt Drill and impact combo for $149, and a 4pc 20v Dewalt kit incl drill, impact, reciprocating saw, and light for $249. That $249 kit especially is a really good deal. I couldn't pass it up.
