I have a cheapie think H/F does all I have asked of it. Its changed several ball joints and cut many a rivet and nuts.

The problem I have with the HF cheapie is that the trigger is either or or off with no in between, so you better hold on or you'll be jackhammering all over your work.

My Ampro allows me to feather the trigger for more control.

Regardless of the air hammer you get, spring for the quick-change release. It's worth the few extra dollars and I find the HF unit works as well as higher priced ones.

Did a search and found this thread about budget air hammers. Do we still feel the 117 is a good bang for the buck air smacker?
