I have several label makers. One is attached to my PC and prints 1 inch labels that I use on my Hillman parts boxes. Brother Link Here

I have 2 other label makers. One prints 1/2 inch labels and I attach those to magnetic strips for putting labels on my tool box drawers.

The other label maker is also 1/2 inch and is kept in my office for putting labels on files.

I have made it my lifes work to label everything... as I get older and lose my memory... it will make things easier.

I use that Brother label maker every day at work. I work in a hospital and every time we service an outlet or something electrical, we trace the circuit back to the panel and label the outlet cover. Now, if/when someone trips a breaker, we know exactly which panel/breaker to go to. And believe me, we're talking multiple panels and 100's of breakers per wing. This makes things much quicker and easier.

Curious to those that have ne that prints from your computer. What program do you use and is it possible to print something like a ruler on one with accurate graduations?

That's purdy!!!

Consider magnetic dry erase strips if you label your drawers... so you can move stuff.

Can you buy the magnetic tape to fit the printer this is all new to me. My last label maker i hate to admit was a sticky tape turn the wheel and squeeze. Ya I know super old school

I print on regular labels ... then cut a strip of magnetic strip to match... attach label... fling it on my drawer.

Or you can do what strouty said... lol... same thing... didn't see his post.

Brother P touch. Laminated tape. Tape will go through dish washer tons of times. Wont peel off. Lost it in a house move. Bought a Dyno to replace it, but cheap tape. Found the PTouch and all is well in the world. We have to label all sorts of stuff for daycare. Not sure on the magnetic tape. Probably too thick

That was my experience too. I bought a >$100 professional labelmaker for cables/etc... found the wording wears off the labels quickly. Back to my TZ labeler... the laminated tape lasts just about forever, it's way cheaper, and you can pick it up anywhere in a pinch.

BTW... if you have a toolbox with silver grab handles as many do, the black on clear TZe labels make it look REALLY nice and professional!

As with printer ink, where they really kill you is on replacement label tape.

Cheaper to buy a new label maker than it is to buy more tape!

I ordered clear tape with black ink for $4 a roll for this label maker. That sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
