I'm looking for a central vacume system in my new garage. Almost done with the framing and was wondering what the best brand of is, most power, reliablity, etc. I want to use it to vacume cars as well as the rest of the garage.

Thanks

We have an electrolux that is about 18 years old. No problems at all with it other than replacing the hose 10 years ago.

I would not recommend one for only the garage(they are not cheap) but if you are planning to plumb the whole house its a great machine.

My parents old house had a 20 year old electrolux system that worked great. They did have two pumps running in series.

That vacuum really sucked.:lol_hitti The closet they were in would get warm, and they would hit their thermal shutoffs if it ran for a long time. We routered 4" holes top and bottom in the closet door, and put a muffin fan blowing out on the top hole, wired in to the motors. When the vacuum started, the fan would turn on, **** air from the floor into the closet, and blow the hot air out the top. It worked great.

I believe you guys. I believe that Made in U.S.A. 20 years ago ment you got a great product. I was wonder if anybody had recently purchased a system where the motor is not made in China?

Thanks.

Well I know the electrolux shop near me still sells the "Made in Canada" stuff. Thats the other thing I like about the system I have. Parts for the older machines are still available.

We have been using a (common) Vacuflo system for both the house and garage for over 6 years now, and it's fantastic.
