Best coffee maker for shop?

What is the best coffee maker for my shop? I use Kcups and am guessing it needs to be a single serve unit/ My shop is not heated so it can not have water left in it or it will freeze. For the summer I do not water left in it to grow mold.So what do you guys do. It is getting expensive buying coffee every time I go to the shop.

Why not just have a small traditional 4 cup coffee pot. Only takes 10 minutes for it to fully brew and you can clean it out easily

Whatever you do, avoid an espresso machine. Just about guaranteed damage in a freeze.

If you want to stick with k-cups, they do make single-serve machines where you only pour in the amount of water needed to make each cup of coffee.

I am not a 'connosier' but I use this. Simple. Pour coffee in, pour hot water in, let it set a couple of minutes, press the excess water out and your done

I have a Hamilton Beach that uses k-cups at work. It doesn’t keep water hot, you add it with every use. Takes a little longer to brew compare to other k-cup machines, it easier to keep clean. Just keep a gallon of water next to the machine, or bring with you if it freezes. Bought it at target. I also comes with plastic filter if you don’t want to use k-cups, but I haven’t used because would take longer to clean.

If you have a microwave at the shop or a means of making pretty hot water get a French press. I have a stainless model that I bought off amazon 5 years ago that’s still going strong. I make three cups a day with it. If you really want to get fancy buy a little electric grinder and start grinding whole beans. Makes Starbucks taste like toilet water at only 1/15 the cost.

Single shot Keureg, case of bottled water. Same as whats in the race trailer. But in my case. the house is only 30' away so I can hoof it to the main Keureg.

I have a Keurig for everyday use in the house. But when I have "real" coffee (Jamaican blue mountain) I use a French press.

I carry a french press, would not touch the swill in terminal lunch room or anything else in that environment.

Electric kettle and a French press, much cheaper than a k-cup machine and much better coffee assuming you buy something decent to use. Electric kettle gives you the option for tea or hot cocoa if you are in the mood for that or have guests.

Easy to dump the water out of the kettle if freezing is an issue, and likely not much of a problem even if you forget, other than thawing a big ice cube before you can make more coffee.

I second this. I recently got one and it's night and day vs regular methods. Better than french press as there is no sediment in your coffee. Removes all bitterness and acidity.

I can't stand the K cups - weak coffee even on the strong setting.

I was on a month long wildfire assignment a few years ago with only a K cup machine for coffee. First thing I bought when I got home was a Jet Boil with the french press accessory.

I brew tea that is stronger than the coffee that K cup machine turned out. Based on their popularity I guess I like my coffee stronger than the average person.

I have a 12-cup Mr. Coffee that I bought brand new for $5 at a yard sale. Keep the coffee in the mini-fridge and a grinder in the cabinet.

Offda, who from Minnesota drinks just one cup of coffee? Definitely not Me. For a detached shop, I would like the stainless steel percolator. It could be cleaned in the kitchen sink every evening. Fresh coffee could be brewed for break-feast, and then the percolator could be brought to the shop; to remain plugged in for the remainder of Your shoptime. This way, that one percolator would be doing the work of two machines, and You would always have hot coffee ready.

I would say go for this Hamilton Beach. I've one and it's pretty perfect. The single side works with k-cups and grounds, and if you've multiple people coming over, or want to brew up a big cup of coffee, you can pour water in the pot side.

Make it at home however you want, then put it in a Thermos or a Yeti stainless steel tumbler and take it to the garage. That's what I do anyway...

I may not always buy the 'best' coffee, but I like to make it the best way, which I've settled on this thing. I even fold my own 'cone' filter from a paper filter from a Mr. Coffee----a lot cheaper than buying 'specific' cones for it. I even run some plain cold water through it to rinse the filter from any 'paper dust' before dumping in my fresh-ground coffee! Maybe a little more 'fiddling' than many want, but I don't mind. I'm not racing anyone and I enjoy great coffee, even from beans that aren't 'the best'!

To me it seems like the 'purest' way to brew-----the water isn't running through all kinds of moldy dark plastic and vinyl tubing passages before going into your cup. I'm convinced it makes any particular coffee taste it's best. Plus, it's nearly 'bomb-proof'! No electronics to burn out, etc.

Hamilton Beach Brew station. You can pick them up for $64. My wife has even stopped using her coffee pot since you can make a pot of coffee or single serve. You can use pods or just put a scoop in their single serve strainer pod.
Some people need to read up on Keurig tests. All the testing results I have seen on Keurig shows that it doesnt get the water hot enough to brew coffee properly. You are paying more for an inferior product.

I had a 12 cup Mr Coffee but they don't like sub zero, so it got donated to the local landfill. Now my coffee either follows me in from home in a thermos, OR (especially when I was traveling for work) the Aeropress all the way. I have a microwave so I can heat the water for the 'press... AND a jetboil... The whole thing fits in an ammo pouch that sits on my GHB pack so when I'm out of doors I can still have my coffee MY way.

Percolators do make good tasting coffee. There have been all sorts of fancy coffee makers developed but the old fashioned percolator always impresses me. I had a Pyrex glass one for a while but am not currently using a percolator — I cycle though various makers and though I have ones that cost a few hundred, I am using a $15 Mr Coffee 4 cup now. Will probably go back to grinding beans again soon and maybe try something new — maybe a technivorm one cup.
