Most expensive does not always translate to best. A number of companies make very good wrenches and there is quite a price spread. Stuff sold off a truck has a lot of extra cost built in beyond quality. As a home mechanic the OP does not need the service provided to a business. In most cases it is harder for a home mechanic to find the truck if there is a problem, than to deal with brick and mortar or an online business. The most bang for the buck probably comes from online discounters of quality brands, like Acme, CPO, ToolTopia, etc. Wright, SK, Proto all make good wrenches. At a lower price point, Tekton makes some very serviceable stuff. If the OP is going to get upset when a tool shows a nick he is in for a shock. Even SnapOn will show wear marks. They are tools, not jewelry. The most expensive you can afford.
