Quincy 310 with 5 hp motor and 60 gallon tank. Mfg in the 50's, came out of old station. Runs slow and quiet and puts out enough air to spray paint. I bought it in 1990 and unfortunately, has been outside and neglected. I've been thinking of a rebuild and restore, but it still pumps all the air I need.

1970s Vintage Craftsman I think made by Campbell Hausfeld. 2 hp, 20 gallon tank. My only regret was not spending the extra money and getting the 3 hp with the 30 gallon tank.

Yes, that generator (5000W) will run it just fine all day long.

Quincy 390 with a single phase 7.5hp baldor motor, on an 80 gallon upright tank. It's a best that will keep up with anything. Fire it up from 0psi, start blowing the garage out with the hose wide-open, and it will still catch up to the 155psi shut-off, and shut off, while still blowing the garage out.

I got the whole 390/15hp baldor/80 gallon horizontal tank from a college auction, then sold the tank and motor for more than I paid for the whole thing. Added a single phase motor I already have, and an 80 gallon uright tank I got at another auction for $20, and I have one badass setup for next to nothing. Best $50-ish bucks I've ever spent (after buying the electronics, used, to run it).

I used to be happy with the Quincy 330 I had, until I ran the 390. soon, the 330 will be up for sale, as I never use it anymore.

Picked up this 80 gal. Erie at an auction last fall for $100 so I guess it must be the best one (by default) that I have owned.

Did a lot with my dad's to t 1/3 hp monkey wards but while working for Sears I got a 20 gal 5 hp 220v two cylinder made by DeVilbis and my brother still has it in his garage. I got it because it was oil lubed over these non oil lubed pieces but I still have tank ov my buddies old Campbell Hausfield oilless but compressor is shot and it got pulled out into weather when someone tried stealing it . I'll see if tank is serviceable, probably pick up compressor pump from harbor freight and locate an older 220 motor when my garage is done.

My current CP 7.5/80 gal "slow turn" model. Wonderful machine! Reminds me, it's 2 years old but I haven't changed the oil yet. What say you Compressor Pro, what oil to use ? And, thanks for steering me to (and selling me) this great compressor

It's in the back against the wall

I have a Sears Craftsman 2hp compressor with a 20 gallon tank. I remember driving to the Sears store in Harrisburg, PA with my Dad to buy it when I was 11 years old. I am now 56 years old and it still runs great. I change the oil every few years.

Yes, I will say it: They don't make 'em like they used to!

My parents bought me one around 1980 and it is still going . Got used heavy for 15 years or so. More intermittent use since.

I bought my 60 gallon 220 volt C/H used about 15 years ago... it was inoperable according to the owner and 50.00. I had another older craftsman smaller unit at home with a good motor but a bad tank so swapped the head units out and used it that way for several years.

Was cleaning one day about ten years ago and decided to test the 220 motor, I had taken the previous owners words at face value and just swapped the motors when I first bought it. I wired the 220 unit to my welding extension cord and it ran like new... another ******* award for me.

220 Volt motor reinstalled and it has been humming along now another ten years, an excellent fifty bux spent !!!!

Pic is of one of my first "lifts" to my second floor with the sliding rail hoist.
