Hi everyone,

I’m planning to pour a concrete floor for my garage, and I want to make sure it holds up under heavy use. Between vehicles, tools, and general wear and tear, I need a surface that’s durable, easy to clean, and resistant to stains and cracking.

For those who have installed or worked with garage concrete flooring, what thickness and reinforcement have worked best for long-term durability?

Also, is there a specific sealer or epoxy coating that’s best for preventing oil stains and surface wear? I’d love to hear recommendations on the best way to finish and maintain the concrete for long-lasting performance.

Looking forward to your insights!

I had a color hardener troweled on during finishing & added super diamond clear by Euclid for a sealer. No complaints on the products.

Check with a local construction supplier like CMC, that's where I got these products.

Mine is a working shop and takes a beating. I only used a siloxane sealer with densifier. Everything seems to wipe off easy enough. I've had a couple times where oil or trans fluid spilled and sat there for who knows how many days before I noticed it. I just spray down some brake cleaner and let it sit a bit then wipe it up. Repeat a couple times......all good.
