Best Concrete Sealer for Residential

Hi all,

Here are specs of the project. New Residential home, integral color concrete slab. 200g wet polished > applied Densifier > 400 wet polished > applied Densifier ? 400 dry polished. Has a beautiful semi gloss finish, however need to better protect it from stains throughout the home. The denisifier is Ameripolish 3D HS. Talking with the sales rep he advised to use Ameripolish SR2 Stain Resistor.

He advised to coat the entire floor in this for the 1st application, then maybe once every year to dilute the SR2 with water (cant recall the amount, will have to reach back out to him, something like Water 50:1 SR2) and mop it on as you clean the floor just to keep it perfected.

Has anyone worked with SR2? Or is there another Sealer that would be better? Application rates?

Ameripolish SR2 is a penetrating type of sealer. It will provide better stain protection than what you have currently. However, it's still a penetrating sealer, meaning that the surface of the concrete can still stain. It will not provide optimal stain protection like a thin filmed topical sealant.

There are newer topical nano sealers available now created to work on polished concrete. They provide much better stain protection and retain or enhance the glossy appearance. BallistiX is one such product. You can find it here at ArmorPoxy, one of the participating vendors here on the GJ. I would recommend contacting them to discuss such an option.

I've seen a home with gloss Balistix used. Within 6 months you could see the skin that it left come off the floor. Any chairs on the floor you could see all the wear from the feet... it was not good. I'm not sure which version of Balistix the contractor used but we were not a fan of it.

I used this on my pool deck because I had to power wash the mold off every year, so far two years it works great. A bit $$$.
