I have to do some measuring to see if a 22" deep tool box will work.
What does the inside of the drawer on a 22" box measure?

Is 22" the deepest tool box JF has?

I might buy a box tomorrow.
The $850 Facebook box is 25-1/4 x 50-1/2 but is over 3 hours away.
I really only need the bottom.

I'm south of Kankakee, Illinois.

Any advice would be appreciated.

That Snappy top box is what I started with in 1973, grew out of it by '76 no roller slides in that one
The Mac box is a golden oldie also it may not have rollers either.
The Snappy bottom box is the smaller model with add ons on each side check the bottom around the caster mounting for cracks/bends.

Wow, in my area of central "Ahia", those boxes, would both be sold in no time at that price point, you would be looking at a lot more money.
At least the old Mac and snap on boxes that I own, all come with built in drawer dividers and they all have non-ball bearing slides; don't get me wrong they have all held up well, but you cannot fill them up with the old drawer slides in place, like the deeper newer boxes out there.

Ball bearings are your friend.
Deeper is better.
Bigger is better, because in no time you will outgrow the box.

Because the price point is cheap enough, buy them and when you outgrow them, you could sell them faster than if they were over the $1000.00 price point.

Mac box for sure. Has ball bearing slides and built like a tank. I only buy SO boxes but even I am impressed by the Mac boxes. Super sturdy. Mac might even have parts. in 6 moths HF wont know your name. And a an old school SO box to boot? thats a no-brainer for me.
That's the direction I was leaning. I'd really like to have 2 full width drawers.

Depth is a concern. I'd probably by a HF - because it's close. But it's only 22" deep

These will most likely be sold on the estate sale after I croak.

They're primarily to get the bench cleared off.

Main issue is the Mac is a 7 hour round trip. And I'm not up for the long days right now.

Honestly, unless you're into old boxes like me, HF is probably your best bet. They make some very good quality stuff now. And the prices are still very good.
But not 24" or deeper. From what I've seen HF doesn't have anything deeper than 22" and I don't know how deep the actual drawers are.

Looking at possibly buying a new heavy duty or pro line Husky

Tekton. (Made by Rousseau)
They have narrower but do offer 48 or 60 x 27.
Or 60 x 30. Red or black.
Rousseau showed at Goodguys and they are a very solid box.

Is two inches that important?

(That's what she said!)
I'd rather have a 30" deep.

When tools don't fit in the drawers, it becomes important.

And nobody has posted the actual ID on the drawers on the 22" tool box - it's not 22".

One box has a drawer ID of 19.6". I need at least 20"

The difference between box OD and drawer ID also varies with manufacturer.
