I need a new compressor pump. I have been looking on the web and I have seen pumps for as low as $129.00 and as high as $500.00.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good brand pump with good specs. I would prefer American made if that is a possibility anymore. If not at least a brand that oversees its quality control and stands behind its product.

I am replacing a craftsman pump that after 29 years finally quit. The specs for the pump that quit is 11.5cfm at 90psi so I would like one that meets or exceeds that.

What about rebuilding the one that's there? You know it's matched to the tank and motor. It's likely that parts are easily found. Also, it would be a great project.

KenFain, I have checked for parts and the crank is $211.00 the rod is $26.00, the Bearings are $50.00 for both so instead of spending $300.00 on this 29 year old pump I think I would rather buy new one.

Thank you Kams1973 I will check them out.

Is your motor by chance 13-15 amps @ 240V? If so you should probably be looking for a 3 HP pump.

LG65 The motor is a 13amp 240V I never thought of even checking that. The front of the compressor says 5hp so I went with that but a 240v 13 amp is closer to a 3 hp motor. Glad you said something. I might just buy that Ingersoll rand and be done with it.
