Ok guys after years and years of building my shop I finally got my concrete poured. My concrete guys went above and beyond and I have a fantastic almost mirrored trowel finish already. However i really like the look of the concrete that is polished like at Home Depot etc. I am now looking to probably get ready to possibly polish and for sure addd a densifier/sealer to the shop. My concrete guy recommended diamond hard as the have good success with it. I have read a lot of reviews and all seem very happy with it. After doing some searching I think I can get away with a buffer and diamond pads since my finish is so good. I may do some grinding in my man cave area to do some light to medium salt/pepper aggregate finish. The main shop is going to be for all around work, metal fabrication, welding, cutting, automotive etc. then on one of my lean toos I am going to close it it for my wood working shop. I have seen numerous post on here with numerous products and wanted those who have used them to let me know what they like and dislike about what you used. Also if you used diamond hard I would love to hear real work feedback. Thanks!

Ghostshield densifier and the 8505 penetrating sealer. Mine is a working farm shop and ghostshield products have been great.

Anything that is a densifier and hydrophobic sealer all in one is a good option. I use a National Polymers' 7939. It's a sodium silicate and lithium silicate densifier in one. A five gallon pail is about $100-120 + shipping, but idk if they sell to the general public.

Do you have any sealers that work around at around 30 degrees?

James
Penetrating sealers are typically limited to a minimum of 40 degrees. Anything colder than that can severely reduce curing time and create uneven coverage. Many will freeze at 30 degrees and be useless.

Ghostshield which we carry has excellent results and thousands of happy Garage Journal customers over the years.

I just had my concrete finished and used Diamond Glass Densifier. Seemed super easy and we will see how it holds up to spills down the line.
Quick vid of the process.

Did you polish or grind the floor before applying the densifier?
My floor is already pretty smooth and not sure if i should buff or polish it first.

I have 2400 sq ft to do and looks like 1 gallon should be more than enough?

I did nothing to my floor. Grinding not necessary and just didn't want to spend the money on polish. But Polish first would be nice. The densifier isn't a coating as much as it is a chemical reaction to close the pores of the concrete to resist staining.
