On standard electrical cable?

Suggestions with links from the experts here would be great.

If you're talking about 10-2, 12-2 type house romex wire I have an OLD one of these and it works great:

The thing is, mine is an old one that works very well but whenever I've tried the new ones they stink. I did see one of these at Home Depot the other day and thought that, for $5, I'd likely try one if I was still doing a lot of electrical work. It looks like a little tool that can do a lot of things, but in reality it might not do any of them well. For $5 I'd try it.

Klein makes the flagship tool for this:

There are a few variations depending on the type of work you do. I've never used one because I don't do enough electrical work anymore to necessitate one, but they are supposed to be really nice.

for NMD 90 I use the klein tool posted above, WAY easier than a knife or those stupid strippers with the point.
for just single conductors I use the blue handled klein kurve or red handled standard klein strippers.
I have a pair of the ideal stripmasters but only really use them for coax.
anything outside the range covered by the klein strippers I just use a knife.

If you are talking about romex, I take off the outer coating with a razor knife.

I got a deal on these at Gray bar.. They are just a 90 deg version of the Klein mentioned above.

I usually prefer the standard ones, but these work great in boxes and other tight areas...

Im a electrician and Rack a tiers crocs kill klein strippers in every way. They last longer cut screws easier have the 12-2 and 14-2 stripper at the end so easier to get into boxes. The spring doesnt fly out like the kleins after a few weeks of daily use if your like me and like the spring and keep it in. The needle nose on the end is way stronger for grabbing and pulling wire through tight holes/corners. They dont flex nearly as much, cut way better and stay sharper longer, have crimper built in, have more wire sizes available, I can keep going on and on. Wasted a lot of money on klein over the years because I didnt think anything was better and hated the Ideals. Until I found the crocs, one pair of crocs last me 5x longer then the kleins.
