Looking for a good one for average use. General at home/ around the house projects. It’s main purpose in life will be to run a foam cannon for auto detailing, which will require probably a minimum of 1.8 gpm and 1100 psi or so. But would still get used to clean the deck and other odd jobs. Thanks guys.

And yes, I really do want to stay electric for simplicity and for indoor garage use.

I just sold mine recently. 5 HP Baldor coupled to a General TT9091 pump. It was wall mounted inside the garage just beside the man door. Worked great for 25 years.

I have a Karcher I got at Home Depot some years ago, I don't recall the exact model number but it's worked well for me.

I've had quite a few through the years...Bought this one last fall, so far I really like it. Most amps I've seen in a small cheap residential 120v type unit.

https://www.menards.com/main/outdoo...ure-washer/020700/p-1506320847024-c-10113.htm

It comes with a little soap cannon and a decent turbo nozzle. Sucker weighs 41 pounds and the most amps of any of the others available at the box stores.

I need to add a soft water spigot outside and quit using 28 grain hard and iron well water too.

Dang, That's a nice unit. Just like what I want, lots of volume, and moderate pressure. 2000 PSI will do everything I want.

Check out the YouTube series by Obsessed Garage. He tests every big box store electric he could find.

But I think he uses a Kranzel professionally.

What I came away with was you won't get more than 1.2 - 1.6 gpm unless you spend $500+

I'm going to buy the $99 Ryobi, looks like it will do a decent job.

That is a slick set up!

I've never had any luck with electric pressure washers, and have had 3 different Karchers die on me (plus another generic no name version). Granted, all were cheap box store pressure washers, but none made it past 2 seasons of very limited use.

For $1k, I would get this if you have access to 230V.

I know nothing about the brand, but the important bits look to be good quality. Namely the Cat pump and GFCI'ed 230V 5HP motor.

Wow am really lusting after that Baldor setup. All it needs is water purification and hot water?

In the interim I ended up with an AR 610. A lot quieter and more water volume than the big box store electric pressure washers I initially started with. 1.3 vs 1.9 is a big difference. Italian made pump with hopefully non “Italian” made mechanical reliability. Thing weighs at least 3x as much as my old AR. Am now thinking about a dedicated utility cart for it as lugging it around with hose, gun, and power cord requires me to recruit one of my kids to help.

Only reason why I didn’t go with a 240v setup was portability with multiple decks far from an outlet and didn’t want to limit it to just cars on the driveway.

Also was able to snag it on Amazon warehouse for $250 because of major cosmetic damage from bad packaging. The plastic cover was ready to fall off out of the box, but I figure all tools get beat up eventually if used.

I bought a Karcher K5 about six years ago. I use it about once a month (washing cars, spraying down dirt bikes, power washing walkway, hardscape, patio, etc.). Still going strong.

A very good friend recently retired and sold his commercial pressure washer sales and service business.

It used to drive him CRAZY trying to explain to consumers that the Big Box store Karchers etc they brought to him to fix would be cheaper to replace than repair.

I was on a volunteer fire Dept for 17 years and during my service there we used the same two electric power washers. I think one was a Baldor and the other was something from Northern Tool. Both were used daily and the only issue I recall was replacing the plug style GFCI. They absolutely looked like **** and leaked everywhere but for being 20+ years old with zero maintenance we couldn’t complain. Definitely not the big box store disposable ones. These were of all-metal construction and would induce pain if I shot it toward a foot in a fire boot.

I bought one at Harbor freight for well under $100 with a 20% off coupon and a free tape measure, maybe 4 years ago. I use it a lot and it's worked as advertised. I use it to wash cars and general cleaning, maybe 30 or more uses a year. My only criticism is the hose could be a bit longer.

Those industrial AR pressure washers seem like the way to go! Finding an electric one that pushes 2.0 gpm has been a challenge, and doubt you get there with big box store washers. Just don't know how I'd like that AR630 without a cart/wheels on it. Hhmmmm....

I would have gotten one, had I been 100% sure I could run one on a 20A breaker with a foam cannon. Maybe not a big deal for some of the crafty dudes on here, but I didn't want to risk needing to pay someone to rewire my garage on a 30A circuit.

My Kranzle is functionally similar and doesn't trip my breaker ever. The downside being cost:

I'm going to buy the $99 Ryobi, looks like it will do a decent job.

Following up;
I did buy the Ryobi 1600psi, was $99 on sale now $119 at HD.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-1-600-PSI-1-2-GPM-Electric-Pressure-Washer-RY141612/301004462

Paired it with a MATCC foam cannon. It fit the quick disconnect on the Ryobi wand with no problem.

With a 3:1 water to Meguiars Gold Class it made foam as good as any I've seen on youtube. I tried 4:1 and that was good as well and realistically is plenty but not quite the "money shot".

With the "white tip" from this pack it ran at 1050 psi, which to me seems like a good safe pressure.

The conflict is that the best set up for washing cars will be high volume and low pressure, which is not ideal for other chores. For washing cars check out the previous recommendation and watch some obsessed garage comparisons. You can easily spend a few hundred on wands and accessories. I'd recommend the karcher k1700 with accessories to get started then upgrade the washer later. The k1700 is his recommended economy line based on performance and warranty.

I bought a sunjoe spx3000 on sale for $109 at HD last year. 1.76 gpm rating. Not saying it’s the best or flows the most. But it’s cheap on sale and gets good reviews.

WARNING!

A little over two years ago, we bought a Karcher K2000 electric pressure washer. It's worked pretty good for us.

This year, we decided to buy one of those driveway/walkway cleaner accessories - a round housing with a nozzle on each end of a rotating arm, inside. Has a couple of extension tubes to bring the connection up to the height of the pressure washer gun - sort of like operating a vacuum cleaner. We bought the Karcher T-300 unit.

Turns out the driveway washer is not compatible with the pressure washer - the end where the upper extension tube is supposed to connect to the pressure washer 'gun' does not match that of the gun. Apparently Karcher has changed their connection design with no consideration to make them reverse-compatible. I called Karcher customer service, and other than telling me the two units were "not compatible", they had no solution for me.

Never buy anything with propitiatory fittings/connectors. That Briggs & Straton I posted earlier uses standard connectors.

I bought the $99 Ryobi, for pretty much exactly what you're after. We washed some block walls, washed some brick, and most frequently, wash our cars (with a foam cannon). I picked up a foam cannon and nozzle kit on Amazon for ~$20, and some brick-safe cleaner. The biggest thing is to know the surface you're washing, because too much pressure can damage masonry.

For $100, I'll be satisfied if it lasts through the warranty -- the small footprint is also a big plus, I keep it on a shelf in the garage, along with a leader hose to connect it to other spigots on the house so I don't need to run an insanely long hose.

Update: Obviously, I purchased the wrong driveway cleaner accessory. Apparently, the one I bought was for larger machines. Had to special-order the correct one. It was even out of stock at Karcher. About half the price of the first one, though.

I'm looking at electric pressure washers now and found this thread. I would LOVE to spend money on a Kranzle but I just can't justify spending $1500+ for something that is going to only be used to wash cars. I have a costco gas pressure washer that I've been using with my foam cannon with zero issues but it gets tiresome with the noise to start it up and stop... Electric would be much better to me in this instance.

After a lot of research I am about ready to bite the bullet on the: AR Blue Clean AR630-TSS

Seems pretty decent from the reviews and it's a pretty stout machine. Being at around 80lbs. I'd love to be able to mount it on the wall but then I'd have to run the garden hose inside the garage which I'm not sure I'd like rather than just picking the unit up and setting it down directly in front of my garage. With a two car garage I'm trying to maximize space and have stuff on the walls but not get in the way of when I need to move cars/open doors and get ladders...etc.

I love my AR-630-tss…except for the weight. Anyone have pictures to post of the carts you have used to mount it on? Looking for options.

If you really want a good one, look at Mi-T-M, they are used in most industrial facilities, i see them in the DEP plants we do work in. I have a gas powered hot water one 20 years old and still works great. Parts are also easy to get.
