I'm looking for the best type of electric metal shears for making tight turns in both directions. I'll mostly be cutting .08" and .065" aluminum.

Right now I've got hand snips and these pneumatic shears from Eastwood.

They work great in straight lines and for slight curves but nothing beyond that. I'm looking for something that can cut out complex shapes with tight turns.

Three blade nibbler shears remove a strip of metal in the middle, leave fairly straight cut edges, but turn like ****.

Two blade bypass shears (I HIGHLY recommend the Bosch 1500C) turn tightly, but can raise one edge a little. There is no metal lost however. They turn more tightly in one direction than the other. I forget which is which, but I can cut out a nickel in one direction, and a coffee cup lid in the other.

A nibbler removes metal like your three blade shear, though it does so in evil sharp toenail clippings. However, a nibbler can turn within about a pencil's width.

Thanks, that's great info. I like that the 3-blade shear leaves both sides relatively straight, but yea, turns like ****.

That 1500C is pricey but looks like what I need. The cheaper version (PS70) only has a .05" aluminum capacity.

Think I'll probably stay clear of the nibbler is it produces metal slivers.
