For those of you out there who use a lot of it. What in your opinion, is the best quality electrical tape money can buy? And while we're at it, what are the brands to avoid?
This is the correct answer.Professional medium voltage splicer says 33+ ( unless you are doing high temperature work then 88+ ).
Exactly, and for the record super 88 *****! Hahaha33+

Who throws away stuff like that? You should be keeping every remnant of everything because you never know when you're going to need a 3/8" long piece of tape!...
TIP! NEVER throw away a roll when it gets "small" because that roll is very useful for "taping up" in tight spaces where you can’t get a full roll into.

Red and blue pexHa ha
How many 1-2 foot long pieces of Romex or pieces of black, white, green, red wire do most of us have in a box somewhere “in case we need it“ someday, ?
Got to include 3M 2520 if your using splicing tape.3M 130C is nice too.
33 or Super 88 are my favorites.
Scotchs 33+ .... I have used them to make my Christmas lights (giant sphere with lights) for years... It holds up better than other tape IMHO. I have 20 y/o decorations that I display outside for several months and the Scotchs 33+ outperforms all the others I have tried that tend to dry out and flake after a year or two. It sticks better in cold weather and gums up less often.
Second best is Harbor Freight multi-rolls for just a few bucks.... for when you don't care if it lasts forever. I use the cheap **** to wrap up my electrical extension cords I have rolled up after Christmas to keep them untangled.
I don't like the 88 Scotch tape, it is thick and cumbersome to work with.
