Slab poured last summer 4" thick. Treated w/ 4500 and 8510 Ghostshield (if that matters)

Lip of the garage entry has 2 little chunks missing right by garage door, see photos. Driveway is gravel and snow is melting off (still freezing temps here) so the area is dirty in pics etc. Unsure how this occurred. Maybe a larger rock was in the concrete and came out etc. over the winter

Wondering what the best fix for this is once it warms up? any products you can suggest?

Very leery of some off the shelf box store solutions, tried a home depot squirt in product at a former house years ago and w/ freeze/thaw etc it seemed to come up in time and take chunks of more concrete off with it.

I'd like a professional product that wont fail in a mid-west climate that gets all 4 seasons. The chips are outside, not inside the barn.

Once its dry out I can secure the area from foot and vehicle traffic so that's not an issue and it doesnt have to color match perfect (its not a patio) but I really want a permanent solution that doesn't fall apart each year and make the issue worse.

Also, w/ the Ghostshield on top am wondering if that could affect how a product might adhere to the chip area.....(if something were troweled on)

Thanks.

They look like pop outs. These are caused by certain types of material that get mixed in with the aggregate as it is mined such as clay or chert. These materials expand with moisture and freezing and pop out of the concrete surface. This condition varies around the country depending on the type of aggregate that is available.

Repairs are pretty simple. There are any number of cementitious patching materials available. Prep the areas as directed, apply the material and you are done. The biggest challenge might be finding a material that is a color match. We have pretty good luck with Ardex products.

there ya go, pop outs- have read about that before.

I see some products locally but looking for a high quality solution that won't fail year after year so would like to avoid those. Will keep an eye out for Ardex products. Exact color match isn't a huge issue as it borders gravel and is often dirty anyway so....Thanks.

been sloppy and icy/snow melt out....can get more soon. I see off the shelf stuff at box stores but don't want to do this 2x if I don't have to?

seems a bonding agent is pretty important
