After reading many comments on LED & fluorescent lighting, I am still unsure on what type and style of lights to install in the 27'x34' shop/garage.

I would be open to learn what other options may be available and where to purchase them.

I bought $10, 2 lamp t8 fluorescents from Walmart. They have plugs and can easily be replaced if they go bad. Best priced units I could find. I just wired a bunch of outlets in the ceiling and hung them from small eye hooks.

Best bang for the buck is still flourescent T-8 tubes. Whether the 4 footers from walmart or the 8 foot (4 bulb) fixtures from home depot. Better efficiency than CFL.
