Looking for something a little more gritty than the Fast Orange I now get at Wal Mart. Suggestions welcome.

Napa had a sale a few years back if you bought the soap they gave a free dispenser. I dont remember what brand it was but they have about 4 different soaps you can get. I get the cherry and it works great.

I give the same answers every time this is asked.

Stoko Kresto
Snap On Nitro Gold
Zep Reach
Worx powder, if you want something dry or to add extra boost to the standard cream style cleaners.

I use the Zep also, works great for me. I also keep a bar of Lava and a stiff brush by the sink because the smell brings back many great memories.

I knew someone would mention GOJO, is it just me or does anyone else instantly sense the smell of GOJO like it is under your nose when someone mentions it?

2nd to Snap On Nitro Gold - if that is the stuff with walnut shells in it.
The best option, of course, is to use nitril gloves, hands are clean in an instant.

I use Snap-on Nitro Gold and have a wall mounted dispenser. It's the best that I have found without needing to use a brush. Dawn Platinum and a brush is my cheap option.

I get it for around $30 a jug. Local shop will buy it in bulk and will sell me a jug for whatever it costs the owner who's a friend of mine.

When I remember I rub a tiny amount of any type liquid soap all over my hands before working on greasy stuff, makes it come right off later. Don't need to use hardly any, maybe a teaspoon at the very most.

I worked somewhere that used to use "mean green" which is apparently now sold as "Extreme Green" and the stuff worked incredibly well but it had a really large and awkward dispenser because it was more like a paste than a liquid.

My top choice is Kresto, which is excellent stuff and readily available. Fast Orange/Gojo is decent for oils but I find that it's not abrasive enough to effectively clean cracks and crevices when things are really nasty.

Stockhausen Kresto is the answer although it now goes by a different name. It uses ground up walnut shells. Clever German bastards. Stockhausen was bought by Johnson. Here's a link: https://www.scjp.com/en-us/products/kresto-classic
I am also a fan of the Kresto, I have had some friends over to my house and nearly all of them have been amazed by how effective this cleaner really is.

A lot of hand cleaners work good. Zep Cherry Bomb can be found at Walmart in a pump. However the pump on those bottles often clogs. I recommend buying the wall pump if you want to use Cherry Bomb. Cherry Bomb and Mules Head Hand Cleaner are my favorites. I get the Mules Head at my local big rig shops parts department and they gave me a wall mount dispenser free with the big size.

My Snap-on bottle lasts me almost a year so I consider that fairly cheap. I tried some Texas Petroleum hand cleaner and it works well too and doesn't require water. It works great when I don't have access to water. The downside is that they only really want to sell it in bulk, like 6 gallons at a time. I still occasionally use the gallon I have and fill up my small sample bottle for field work. I don't want to spend $250 on a product that's going to take me a decade to use up.

I do mobile work at a variety of shops so i get to sample A variety of cleaners. Kresto and Snap On are the ones that work the best for me. Both dry out my hands extremely fast. Snap On is fairly popular in small shops that don't have a service and I am surprised by how many have it.

I think the red stuff that one place has is cherry bomb, it works well but not as good as kresto or snap on. It also drys out hands quickly, not as bad as kresto or snap on. Leaves a red coating on hands. When I get home and wash there is red coming off

Fast orange works ok. Better than not having it. For cleaning of some things I think dish soap works better.

I have some gojo at home and it doesn’t work very well on my hands.

I keep a cup of borax next to the hand cleaner. Dip a wet hand in that and combined with any hand cleaner becomes the bomb. Use it with GoJo and forget about the drying problem.

Boraxo powdered hand soap is my absolute favorite. Bummed that it was discontinued.

Right now I have a bottle of Cherry Bomb in my shower, it works ok, better than Goop or Fast Orange. The best I've used at home came in a purple bottle from O'reillys. One of my customers is a trucking company and in their shops they have Zep TKO and that is the best pump soap I've used. It has lanolin so it won't dry the hands like others.

A little off topic, but I spent way too much money with Tool Box Widget a few months ago and they sent me a bar of Knuckle Scrubber and I think that's the best I've ever used out of all hand cleaners.
