I've got a lisle in the service truck, mainly use it with 1/2" drive torx sockets on stubborn trailer deck screws that I don't want to just tear out the torx with a gun. If I used it a ton on other stuff I'd probably get a snapon.

So I pulled all my impact drivers down and lubed them today--here's what I found. My USA Craftsman is not really serviceable--pin is peened in place. Maybe someday I'll press it out. The 2 identical K-Ds with different model numbers are exactly the same and use a cross pin as the rotating point. My TATOOLS driver uses a ball bearing on each side with a cover as the driving surface. The TATOOLS has a deeper "V" cut, which I believe would make it rotate less when struck as compared to the more open K-D cut.IMG_0076.jpgIMG_0070.jpgIMG_0069.jpg

Thanks, ordered a set of the VIM and saw these Capri, which I also ordered because of the longer bits in the set.

I've had the lisle 1/2" drive for over twenty years, and has seen tons of use in a pro environment. They did make the craftsman years ago. I think the 5/16" bits hold up better, you will still inevitably break them. And, you have the option to put a 1/2" drive torx socket on it for those makes that have a t30 holding the rotors on. Buy the lisle, it will last forever.

Snap-on 208EPIT. $318 on their website but my driver gave it to me for $175 about 5 years ago. Before that I have a Tekton that I smashed with a sledge hammer.

PISD/Acquisition incorrectly inputted into GFEBS as 7/1/1981. Refer to DA2877 Block 21 and DD1354 Block 19. Midyear estimate 7/1/1960 is used.

Is that the one that comes with a lot of bits for it?

Years ago my wife took me to a tool sale in town, which happened to be Cummins Tools. I didn't see much I wanted, but I was also extremely poor at the time, so a few tools, even Cummins were welcomed. I wound up buying an impact driver, a pry bar, and a framing hammer. That impact driver saved the day once on a job, and the next time I used it, it broke all of the philips heads in the box, and locked up the mechanism.

I replaced it with a set from Tekton which works well, but I have since picked up a U.S. made Craftsman, and Mac. I don't have much use for them, but they are one of the most invaluable tools when you do need them.

The Proto (likely the same as the MAC) is a pretty solid buy, especially if you can stack some discounts on Zoro or MSC. The blow-molded case is handy as well.

Pawn shop score today -- paid a whopping $1 for these two MAC impact adapters--one is 1/4" the other is 5/16". Both 3/8" drive.

Just a bump to keep this topic alive :) Here's a pic of my impacts -- all overhauled and in use. big pic is all 3/8 drive and the single is a TATOOLS 1/2". The 3/8 left to right are KD, KD, (3) HK Porter, MAC, and Proto (proto is BIG). Proto is a sealed unit, so it just gets dunked in oil to lube it.
