I just bought this Steinel today. It's far superior to the Wagner heat guns I've been using.

What's the model number for that gun

I've had the same Porter Cable for 20 years and it's never failed me. Donno if they make them any more, but it's a keeper.

I have the master appliance. I use it a lot at work and it is great. make sure you run the fan to cool it down for a minute or 2 after using it.

I think this one of those tools you just about can't go wrong with. I don't think I've ever used one that didn't perform as needed. It's basically a hair dryer on steroids.

I've used lots of heating guns in the last 2 decades. The shop I was at was full of Steinel guns, but they never lasted forever. You have to be delicate and cool them down. For me I don't have time for that. Been through plenty of HF ones. Some older small Dewalts worked but can over heat with too much continuous use. My gun of choice right now is the Porter Cable one about $35-$40. If it can last without cooling it off then it's got my vote.

For the longest time I had an older Milwaukee (Hi/Lo) heat gun that gone thru the ringer and not given up. Somehow the handle snapped off, but its been taped together for years now.

I've wanted a heat gun for more precise and controlled work... so I picked up a Steinel HL2020E (25th anniversary kit) and so far I really like it. Both are made in Romania or Czech Rep IIRC.

I have an old Grainger that was tossed by my workplace after many years of hard use. It is all steel, beat to hell, and still works just fine.

I'd to go for a DeWalt. Been using them for a few years and never had any issue. If you don't want a DeWalt or don't want to spend money since they can be expensive, then I recommend you to go to a local shop and ask the owner to give you a good one. Don't go in google and search for the best heat gun, pretty much every heat gun they list *****. Such as this website that talks about heat guns. Pretty much everything is wrong, so avoid these.

I'm confused. You say go for DeWalt, but so does the website you linked - and you said that they're wrong.
