Hello everyone.

I have an issue. I cannot find a tough, precise set of hex drivers. I tried them all.
Craftsman, snap on, etc etc etc. they all have 1 of 2 issues: they are either too soft OR the size is so off that end result is them rounding out. YES snap on hexes are garbage. Love the rest of their tools.

Can any of you die Hards point me to the right direction in finding a quality set of hexes? I don't care if they cost $200. Would be nice to find some made out of 300m steel.

Hint: mip/thorp are the kind of quality tip ends I need- they are TRUE size and will NEVER round out. The problem is that they only make it up to 3mm size. I also need 4mm, 4.5, and 5.

Can anyone help me out?

No, Mac tool hexes aren't any good either...

I use eklind at work but to be honest most of the time I go for my bit sockets first.

I have two sets of Eklind (SAE and Metric) foldable ones. It works well for me but I dont use them on heavy duty tasks, but if I do, I use the socket type.

We use the Eklind, T-Handle keys at work for installing staging and dance floors and they hold up very well. I bought the SAE and Metric hex keys from Eklind and torx keys from Bondhus. Some of the Bondhus sets come with a stand for the keys if your into that sort of thing.

MIP/Thorp? Are you using these for RC stuff?

Are you looking for hex keys or actual hex drivers?

I have Wera plus hex key set (with green covering) and they seem to be the best fitting.

I have the PB Swiss metrics and standards and so far they have worked really well for me. I suggest purchasing them through Amazon though, having gone through pbtools.us it took some time to get them to me.

I would suggest either Wera or PB Swiss.

Wera has a special profile which they call "Hex Plus". It's a great feature, whether you're working with new/clean fasteners or old/damaged fasteners. There's another brand called Vessel that also has a similar profile, but the Wera brand should be a lot easier to attain.

Also note that the Wera hex keys are not made from hex stocks. The working ends are precision machined to their tolerances.

You may find the green sheathing to impede vision to the fasteners, or that it may limit engagement to the fastener when working with deep recesses. If that's the case you can cut them, or just get the 950pkl series.

The Hex Plus profile also prevents the edges of the fastener from marring.

PB Swiss anything really.....

Funny, Bondhus makes Snap-on's L-wrenches and Zephyr makes the bits.

I have several sets of bondhus (ball, regular, sae, metric, etc) and they are great. Very happy with them.

I've been happy with my wiha hex keys, they're an industry standard for a reason. Just got some bondhus T-handles and they seem nice

I don't have any experience with the wera hex keys but I do love their screwdrivers.

Pb Swiss 212lk ti

I have some older integy and dynamite sets, the newer stuff seems to be hit or miss on tolerances though.
