Best inexpensive option me?

Hey everyone,
Bought a new construction house in Sept in Leland, NC, and am looking to find the best option for the garage floor covering.

Its ~500 sq ft. concrete floor, and I mainly want something that will keep oil from soaking in when I do oil changes/minor auto repair. Also, I would need it to be reasonably sturdy as I hope to get some wood-working and metal working equipment over the next few years.

Any garage floor paint will prevent oil from soaking in, but will scratch & mar if you move heavy/sharp objects over it. A good quality epoxy with a clear coat will stand up to abuse better, but cost more. When they do chip/mar they're more difficult to repair. A Racedeck, or Garagetrack floor has a mid-range price & will withstand most heavy/sharp objects. Placing protection under things like jack stands helps. They don't absorb oils/fluids & are easy to clean. If one or two are damaged they are easy to replace, or move to an unnoticeable spot.

There are vendors here for all but the cheap big box paints. Contact some of them, mention that you're a GJ member, & look into their pricing.

If it’s a working garage and it sounds like it will be then check Ghostshield products. The vendors here carry it. It penetrates the concrete and doesn’t change the look or the grip.
But it will preclude you using topical coatings down the line. As nothing likes to stick to it.
