Hey All,

I am trying to decide which period correct lighting to use under the canopy for the gas station.

I feel Down lights are the easiest but also believe this will ruin the vintage styling?

Please can I have any suggestions?

Thanks Shane

most vintage gas stations I have seen use florescent tubes. if you are going back into the 1920's you will have to go with incandescent ceramic base fixtures.

Porcelain enameled steel reflectors would provide the vintage look, but would not be cheap, LED lamps could be used to make them more efficient.

When my first post was made did not realize 'cuz did not check that you were in Australia don't think that ones from the US would work since they would not comply with the electrical regs in OZ, plus after paying high prices for "vintage" fixtures all the other costs added for shipping &customs would almost guarantee a heart attack.

If you are flush mounting them to the ceiling, I remember seeing milk globes like the one I have pictured being used on some when I was a kid.
