I haven't had great luck finding this info. I was lucky enough to pickup an older X4 multiplier which I had always wanted.

It was in good shape, but I took it apart and the lube is definitely just about spent.

Any tips on what to use, I would think maybe a grease is fine but not sure if there is a defacto standard?

Thank you!

Do you intend to use it in conjunction with a torque wrench? If so the lube may affect how torque is transferred through the multiplier. If not i would say just use what ever bearing grease you have around. Of course I'm sure someone will come along and suggest RLL :)

A friend of mine just retired and willed me his old Blue Point X4 (among other neat things). There's a good bit of intermittent drag when spinning it, which I'm guessing is either debris floating around (I hope), or a gear going bad.

Anyway -- what kind of lube goes in when I reassemble? I use this unit with a torque wrench, so I'd assume it needs a lighter-weight gearbox oil. Any opinions?
