Like I said

The newly introduced Short Technical mechanics gloves from OMP. They are manufactured from 100% nylon with synthetic palm and finger coating, with an open breathable back of hand and elasticated cuffs for keeping them firmly in place. And a pack of 10 it is only about 20€.
and

OMP's top end Dip Mechanics gloves, manufactured from a stretchy protective fabric with synthetic leather palm and fingers. Features pre curved fingers for increased comfort and a Velcro wrist strap closure.

I use thick nitrile gloves.... From HF.... They rarely tear... The main problem I have is my hands get sweaty with them on and I don't like that feeling so I change them every ten minutes... I go through alot of gloves... But its worth it to me.

The old Ringer Authentic Plus are the best, unfortunately they don't make them anymore:(

I still have some Ringers from racing crew member days when we got them free. I loved them and they lasted a long time. I especially liked the ones with the gel cushions.

Taylor J--I assume that's why you're a Ringers fan as well, based on your avatar?

I decided to try the DeWalt rubber front knit back ones. So far so good. The Mechanix style leather ones always wear through the finger tips for me. I hate throwing out a pair of gloves that otherwise look almost new but have holes in the right hand finger tips. The DeWalts feel good and have a good fit. The rubber feels like it might be too stiff but once you put them on, they feel great. I don't know if they make different sizes, mine happen to fit perfectly. If they were just a bit too big I don't think I'd like them as well.

I find the nitrite coated gloves work good. Great dexterity. Only part I hate about this gloves are the part where the palm and thumb meet. They usually rip there.

I LOVE my Mechanix glove as depicted in the OP's post.

But they last about 2 days when working hard before they turn to complete scrap. I must have been through 100 pairs by now.

So although I keep a few pairs about me for a nice change, I spend most of my time kitted in gloves similar to the 2nd post. For 10 pair for the same price as one mechanix glove, I cant complain. On top of that they resist grease/oil and actually last a lot longer than the mechanix gloves. They also sit tighter to your hand making threading nuts and bolts and fiddly work much easier.

I wear gloves for everything after i got a real bad dermatitis outbreak after working with certain greases on CH-47 Chinook's. Havent suffered with any problems since.

For the greasy stuff I wear

I bought a pair of those at Advance Auto. Worked real well for fine work. Good grip and does moderately keep hands warm in a cold garage. I found the rubber coating doesn't hold up long however, will look for these in larger quantities for a good price.

What do you recommend in gloves for those of us with ogre-sized hands? I checked Shrek-shop.com, but they had nuttin'.

I like to hollow out a pair of Fisher Cats from the *** end and use those. The tail works as an adjustable strap to keep them on. The teeth in the head let me pick up small screws, and the mouth still opens wide enough if I need bare fingers for a moment.

They are self replicating and eat pretty much anything including my previous pair of Fisher Cat gloves. For some reason there are no loose house cats in the hood, what's up with that?

Diamond grip latex for oily stuff, snap on fast fit for abrasive stuff, and kinco thick insulated leather gloves for hot/cold/really abrasive stuff. I cannot stand nitrile, I find it useless just because you can never wipe anything off of them once it's on them. I love that with latex you can wipe them with a rag and they are clean again.

i've been using mechanix fast fit for general work and HF nitrile gloves for fluid work...

i really love the fit of the fast fit on my hands

i've tried the regular mechanix but the velcro didn't last and the little strap flapping around was annoying... i've tried the HF mechanics gloves in the store and didn't like the fit, have been meaning to check out the cman gloves, i also used to use some cheapo "grease monkey" gloves which heldup ok for the price but the fit was not that great

i got about 6 months out of the first pair of fast fit, 4 months out of the regular, second pair of fast fit... let's just say they got left on the roof of my jeep and ended up some unknown location between Lynnville and Boonville IN, and the current set i've been using since october but i'm thinking of replacing because i'm sure they have got something soaked into them that won't wash out and is irritating the hell out of my hands but other than that they are still in good shape
