The reduced diameter kind are the only ones I buy anymore. They just fit so much better; especially the shallow slot Phillips.

I view them as consumables and buy whatever is available cheap when I need another box. I go through at minimum 15 per month. It's not uncommon to break 3 or 4 a day if running alot of deck screws.

I cant tell much difference in life span in the impact rated bits versus the standard offering. 15 packs of dewalt is cheap at the lumber yard.

I will say the milwaukee shockwave bits are probably the best of the cheaper offerings. But at three times the price of dewalt bits here locally. I dont get three times the life out of them

Bosch was decent, they didn’t cam out, but I seemed to break them fairly quick. The Milwaukee’s seemed to be stronger, but were real bad on cam out. HF ones seemed to be softer and wear faster.

Out of everything I’ve used, I’ve had the best success with DeWalt. But this is why I like GJ, I’m going to try some of the ones mentioned.

I use 1/4 bits in my drill for automotive use and almost any brand seems to work good but they will all break at some point, in my hand impact 5/16 for drum and rotor screws I don't care which one you use they will die at some point so I look around for a deal on a pack of ten and just move on.

I picked up more Zephyr bits direct from the manufacturer. They're selling on Ebay and Amazon.

Good bits. Slightly different than the Snap-On bits although Zephyr makes their bits. Here's a comparison photo.

Snap-On on the left. Zephyr on the right.
