For what ever reason I ALWAYS need more casters, and those buggers are spendy since you always seem to need four at a time.

Where do you guys get yours from?

HF has a good selection for a nice price. They seem to have all the types -- swivel, non-swivel, raised, bolt/screw on & the type with the metal rod that gets inserted into a hole, etc.. And in all sizes.

Along with wheels ranging from cheapie lawnmower plastic style all the way up to like 14" with tires mounted. Their $5.99 wheelbarrow wheels are a good deal. A little on the small side but better than nothing. I repaired a friend's wheelbarrow with one of those wheels -- brought it back to life. It had an old wheel with a seized bearing, and it was flat.

Since everything in my garage & basement is on wheels, I always need them.
I get them from:
1. Auctions and liquidation sales.
2. Harbor Freight: If I need a single caster.
3. In my area, there is a local flea market vendor that sells nothing but casters.
4. If I see a discarded office chair, I'll pull off the swivel casters that's mounted on the base. You can figure that each of those casters has around a 50# capacity.

I buy the harbor freight small dollies for $7.99 just for the casters. These I used for a base for my belt sander, a tool box dolly, and a base for a 30 gallon drum.
I don't think I would use these for REAL casters but the once in a while moved base they work well.

I just went shopping yesterday for casters. I went Harbor Freight, Tractor Supply and Northern Tool, all within 5 miles of me. All have a decent, but slightly different selection. I wanted solid metal casters and ended up getting them from Northern.
