I'm in need for a new wet/dry vac for my garage. I've been researching the threads and it sounds,... like the Ridgid brand is well liked.

What has always bothered me the most are the damn cheap piece of **** hose's that are supplied.

Isn't there any,.... high quality hose's out there ?

Come on manufactures, this is the 21st century ! :headscrat duh !

Ridgid is a good choice for vac. While at Home Depot, look at the shelf above the vacs and you'll see a "Pro 4x" hose made by ridgid that is orange. Goes for $37. Works much better that the cheap plastic ones that come with the vacs.

Next to it, there is an Automotive Detail kit that goes for $40. It contains one of these "pro" hoses (in a slightly smaller diameter) plus 4 tools specifically for cleaning your car (soft and stiff bristle heads, slim piece and regular nozzle). The auto kit is a much better value IMO since you get a hose plus the heads which usually go for ~$8 each.

+1

Also the good hose is sold at Sears (in grey) at Lowe's (in blue) and elsewhere. (Mr. Nozzle at woodworking stores)
Generally the term to look for is crushproof hose (sometimes seen as crush resistant as well).

Guess I'll head into town and see what HD has on sale. I think I heard that both HD & Sears is having "Black Friday" today and on Saturday, because of the economy. It used to be just the day after Thankgiving.
I won't buy Menards **** tools anymore unless it's a big brand name.

So,..... "Man's Cave" shopping I will go ! :bounce:

Thanks for your help guys.

I used an old HOME vac hose with an adaptor to the tank. Its like cooked spagetti compared to the hose supplied. At the "use" end I put one of the vac connectors to be able to connect vac attachments.
