I love the blue point ones as of now i only have the stubby sae but got them cheap and have used them they are sweet. I can't justify the Snap on versions as I've seen them and they are not worth it new price.

regular, angled head would be fine

offset is an option

Best, yes - I'd want to exclude anything really inferior from consideration

BTW, if a Snap-On is the best, will a Williams be as good?

and what does a Snapon truck guy do when you hand him a busted Williams tool??

Snap On is my best. A SO driver will give you the address to warranty Williams and other SO Industrial brands.

Mac guy has blackhawk ratcheting wrenches on the truck that look and feel pretty nice. Make pick the two SAE sets to go up to 1 1/4" one of these days.

I'm looking for the best flat head wrenches so I ordered the Gedore 7R and am a little disappointed, some wrenches are slightly bent and generally feel relatively soft. I could just bend them in both hands. compared to the Wera Joker.

i know that the other wrenches are not made in germany but maybe there are some with better quality.
So I'm looking for something with a flat head up to 24mm, better 27mm

I don't like the open side of the Wera Joker.
what should i buy instead?
maybe KS Tools?
or Gedore Red?

pls help😞
and sorry for my bad english, google translated it for me

@Tobiz , It might help you get more useful responses to know where are you shopping from.

In the USA Snap-on is the best available hands down, but they are expensive here and probably even more so elsewhere. Williams is a Snap-on brand that also has ratcheting wrenches. Some Williams are made in USA and some are imported from Taiwan, I assume made by Kabo. Someone will correct me if I'm mistaken about that.

Most of the other good ratcheting wrenches here are various brands that sell ratcheting wrenches made by Kabo in Taiwan. Some of those brands are Carlisle, Icon, etc. Others here will likely know other brands made by Kabo sold in the USA and in other countries. I think the German company Stahlwell is one with broader availability outside of the USA.

If you are not in the USA perhaps you can get actual Kabo branded wrenches as they they do sell under their own name too but are not for sale in the USA as far as I know.

The domestic wrench line is forged and assembled in USA.
Same ratchet mechanism as the Taiwan wrenches made by Cendai.

I've got two sets of Garant ones, that I think are rebranded Stahlwille. One set with flexible heads, and one is normal. I use the 13mm flexible one the most, for undoing the battery cables on my car. They are fantastic quality and can wholeheartedly recommend them. I'd stay away from Wurth ones, as they are rather flimsy, and Wera is way overpiced IMHO.

SnapOn Dual 80 reversible ratcheting combination wrenches are without a doubt the best I’ve used. They’re expensive but they’re worth it.

I borrowed the Wera Joker from a friend to compare it to the Gedore 7R.
maybe interesting for someone facing the same choice.

The Wera Joker are definitely much more stable,
the ratchet mechanism feels smoother on the Joker's but the back drag is about the same.

I'll definitely give Stahlwille a try

The ratchet mechanism is made by Kabo in Taiwan, a highly reputed company with an established track record of quality. Mine are a different brand, but same guts.

The larger size range you want limits your options a little, but these are both good quality if available there:
Gearwrench XL 120t
Milwaukee 144t (believe they go to 32mm)

Isn't Tekton discontinuing their ratchet wrenches?
I think I heard that they were, or did, discontinue them, due to supply chain issues (though, I posted my comment 5+ years ago, before that happened).

I'm still quite happy with GearWrench stuff, though, admittedly, I haven't bought a new GearWrench ratcheting wrench for a few years.

Yeah everybody says the Taiwan made was better.
Some of mine were and are a bit older they may very well be Taiwan some of them.
I got to get all my stuff straightened out that's another story.

What about the ones made by Toptul? Or are those also "Kabo", or do they make their own?

Edit: also, sad to see the Gedore seems a bit flimsy. But I can also imagine that a thin wrench like that fits in more places, the Wera looks really fat near to it. I also like that the mechanism can be opened up.

yes the "gedore" are very slim and light and would be perfect if the quality was right, I bought two complete sets from different retailers because I couldn't believe it.

I have a set of Blackhawks that (I think) goes up to 1 1/2", I never use them, but they're nice enough.

so now I have the Stahlwille and the KS Tools for comparison.
The Stahlwille ratcheting mechanism feels just as good as the Wera Jokers, and is generally very stable.
The KS Tools are also not bad, very slim, the only thing that bothers me a little is the ratchet mechanism, I don't know how to express myself, in German we would say "it has play" after a click you can turn the ratchet back until it grips.
I hope you can understand halfway what I mean.
something in me would still like to try the Milwaukee Max Bite:ROFLMAO:, but I don't think these are any better than the Stahlwille.
