Snap-on Bluepoint PRH503, I'm pretty sure that they are re-branded Lang 1465 set.

Awesome pliers I've used them for years, should spring for some new tips though.

I come across snap rings quite often on everything from really small projects up through working on 3/4 ton trucks. Versatility would be great.

I have the craftsman ones, same as Lang, BP. Those 3 tools offer a lot of coverage for Snap rings. 99 percent of the time they fit what I need.

I find the design is much more rigid then the stamped style. Only the large pair is actually ratcheting btw. They sometime keep them from become Jesus clips. I can't comment on the knipex stuff... I don't have any but I sure their well made.

Just curious what advantage ratcheting snap ring over a traditional pliers have?

When dealing with a super large snap ring, the ratcheting function helps to hold the pliers shut/open, meaning you don't have to be squeezing with all your strength just to keep the snap ring from relaxing to its normal state. Small snap rings are easy to remove, really large ones take a lot of force to bend them open or close, and ratcheting makes that much easier.

^ This, you won't run into these retaining rings on household stuff. The last one I did was 4.6" wide holding a bearing in a housing in the middle of a large tractor. They use good spring steel on those large snap rings
