Went with the 2 piece grabit from lowes....
I only used it on 2 screws that were loctited into place. I finally took the piece off the car (throttle body) and chucked it in the vise. Even with all my weight and my fancy #2 snap with serrations still couldnt back it out. I dug out my Milwaukee holeshooter and followed the directions (and watched a few videos) and it worked just as advertised for my purpose...

FWIW I was 90% sure the screw was gonna snap off once I used the drill. Just made sure to take it SLOW.

Of all the removers I've tried, the grabbits are the only tool that is worth the money. I use a #30 bit instead of the drill bit on the end, as this is the part that wars out first. Home depot carries some knock off of the grabbit, it doesn't work...

Grabit & SpeedOut are both toys that you will break the tool the first time you use it on something difficult, at least that has been my experience.

Good idea in theory, but cheaply made.

Precisely. Easy outs are free consumables at work, and they work onky about 50% of the time. If some mouth-breathing neanderthal cross threads a fastener and it has time to corrode? Forget about it. This old guy Tim I used to work with introduced me to the Snap On extractors, the next Friday I bought the biggest set they had. I've easily used the 1/8" several hundred times and there are no signs of wear. One of the best investments I have made. Try removing the seat tracks with an easy-out after a plane has been on det for 7 months in Afghanistan.... See ya' on the truck.

Alden makes the Grabits that are consumables at work, sometimes they work--sometimes they make a ****** situation worse. They work ok for 8/32" screws, but 10/32" or larger I dont even bother with them anymore.

+1

Now this is an example of one of the times that I do think that Snap-On is worth the money! - when you are in this screwed situation, is no time for that silly **** you saw on TV!

SO REX25B. I think SO makes bigger sets but this was the biggest they had on the truck, but I honestly never use the larger sizes in this set.

Pretty sure its the same as the Hanson 53227, which can be found on Amazon for ~$50.

Yep use those Irwin Hanson ones a lot they are pretty good. They sell a set with left hand drill bits as well.

This was a 4mm bolt with a Philips head on it that holding down a plastic sensor. Everything can't have a nut welded to it.
