I saw at (harbor freight) a wireless motion detector. You just place the sensor inside your shop or car or anyplace you want. It alerts you and the intruder doesnt even know it,,,,,,,,Now theres a good way to sneak up on the crook and "teach him what happins when you catch him" cost aprox 25 bucks

Its a Driveway Patrol. I bought one a few years ago....still works great. I had a neighbor that kept coming over at night when he shouldnt be, and after catching him several times in the dark he quit...and was quite embarrassed. Could have been the opposite, a prowler or thief. Only thing tho...install it higher on a pole or shed, otherwise cats will trip it, and not near any trees if your area has a lot of high winds. If the wind is over 20mph then the small tree nearby will trip it once in a while.

BUT..for the price its great. they go on sale from time to time there for 15 bucks, or can be bought off ebay for 7-10 dollars plus 5-8 for shipping all the time. sensor takes 9 volt, chime in the house takes some AAs. Oh..and it picks up around 30 feet or better. I wish you could buy more sensors so I could place more around the place w/o having multiple chimes..but will buy more soon anyway. Cheap insurance!

they have silent ones for motorcycles too, so you can bust whoever decided it would be ok to sit on your bike.

What was he coming over for? Stealing roses out your flowerbed or what?

Uninvited people who show up in the dark around my neck of the woods might get more than embarrassed.

just wandering around....he's real nosy and was over looking at an area I was working on a project at. I have about 5 acres and I put one of these up to make sure things didnt wander off. He's not a thief...just wants to be up on all of whats going on. But not anymore. I think he is still wondering how I knew he was out there.....

That is pretty cool, but I prefer this system. Not silent, but very effective!
