Done with the cheap craftsmen or HF cheap mechanics type. We had some nice ones at work that survived lots of abuse. I think they were Uline brand, but not sure. Any recommendations? Bought a decent one made by Traxion, but it broke as well. Amazon has many.

I'm looking at this one, but it's almost $200 with shipping.

Also a taller shop desk chair or draftsman chair I believe is what it may be called.

After several years, I'm still rocking my Cman stool. The adjustable shock has gotten weak and will allow the seat to sink after sitting on it for awhile. I solved that by putting an appropriately sized piece of PVC as a stop gap measure.

I had to cut it length wise to put it on, a couple wraps of duct tape to hold it in place and added a couple of hose clamps. Been like for about a year I'd guess.

Believe it or not what I have is a harbor freight. Now I wasn’t happy with the casters and wanted a larger diameter for the base so I took a piece of three-quarter inch plywood and made a larger diameter I bolted it to the base of the stool. I’ve been bought better 3 inch rubber castersAnd this works great for me. And nice to have storage from the tray of the original base

Ditto here. I have four of the HF stools and upgraded the casters on all. No problems after several years.

I'm a big guy and have an assortment of stools that I really don't like after a few minutes of sitting on them. I picked up one of these stools the other day at Costco and would call it the best bang for the buck I've found yet. They show them as coming in pairs here, but in the store they were selling single units -

I recently got the Dewalt adjustable stool on casters. It is very good quality. It is adjustable and can be raised high enough to sit at a regular height work bench.

Nice stools. If you haven’t needed a membership card this far, while not go with a buddy. Or take your buddy and get signed up with his referral. You will both get a nice little bonus.

If you go into the store you can buy just one. I got one before the toilet paper rush occurred. It's a nice comfortable stool.

Ordered online, the charged $7.00 extra for non-members for the order. We'll see what the look like when they come in. Ordered 1 two pack, I check them out and if they're decent I'll order another two pack.

I go through a couple a year. I have 5)or so around the garage.
Usually the pad goes, screws fall out, etc.
So far the Dewalt fixed and adjustable chairs are holding up well for the money.

I have a couple of Monroe promotional stools from when I had my own shop, and have been looking at these DeWalt stools

Rocking an old office chair with armrests and back removed. It swivels smoothly, rolls on the concrete easy enough, and goes up and down well. Its not fireproof, thats its only flaw. Grinder sparks are not nice to it.

I also have a pair of those middle/high school metal stools. One is square with a back, an the other round without.

I posted mine in a few previous stool threads. Zero turn mower seat and a wood base (no welder). I've since added cup and tool holders.
