I have a Rigid WD09500.

9 gal, 3.5hp. Stout little machine. I would classify this as a medium size.

People complain about how loud the Rigid's are, but there's an ad on muffler for $15 maybe, that cuts the sound in half.

I also bought the longer hose to go with this. MUCH better hose than what comes with the machine.

I think I'm into it for $150 Canadian. I have abused it more than I care to admit and it keeps on ticking.

I forgot we also have a Rigid WD1680.

This one is a nifty little piece. Lots of sucking power. But you can pull the motor off and use it as a blower. It's got some really good blowing power. Great for cleaning off saws of saw dust when you're done for the day.

I just bought a Hoover GUV garage utility vac. It mounts on the wall and has a 30 foot hose. It’s not a wet vac as I don’t need that but it has good suction and is very quiet. I wanted a wall mount vac to free up the floor space a rolling shop vac uses. It was about $150.

Anyone have a VacuMaid?? I have a craftsman wet/dry vac that's surprisingly lasted for a quite a long time, even used it to clean up many gallons of water in my basement recently. It works good but it's a pain to drag out, the hose is too stiff, the attachments ****, and it's loud(which really doesnt bother me all that much). What i'm looking for is a wall mounted vac that can be user friendly but still clean up sawdust and other shop debris with ease.

Well... I went in a little different direction. I chose a wall-mount vac due to the small size of my garage (20x20) and I really dig it. If you are looking for a wall-mount option, then I do recommend it.

Here's the link:
Craftsman Remote Control Wall Mount Vac

The cool thing about it... besides the accessories and the wall mount option (can be taken down easily and used wherever you want) is the "remote" option. It uses bluetooth to the end of the hose... so you you can turn it on and off while you are vacuuming out the car, or that specific corner of the garage.

I don't use it as a wet vac (it can be though), and i use the HEPA liners, so there's no dust from the output. I also wouldn't call this a "heavy duty" setup, but it works great for just about everything else (sawdust, leaves, car vacuuming, general cleanup, etc.)

Hope that helps.

Bob

My god, what's your sandblaster made of, aluminum foil? :D

The door gets pulled in ever so slightly on my King, but I can't imagine anything strong enough to collapse a 20 gauge cabinet.

Lack of make up air is the cause of that issue..........blast cabinet must have fresh air intake preferable locat is at the opposite end from the vac.
