Any recommendations for premium blades?
Seems so many of the old good brands are junk now. (Looking at you Hyde.)
Whos the current ringleader in quality?

We use the Stanley's at work but don't last all that long. Pretty much my experience but their glass scraper
blades may be better. Steve

Rectangular or trapezoidal?

For trapezoidal ones, I have the Menard’s 100 packs that were made in USA.

For rectangular ones that I use in a scraper handle, I like any brand where the thicker part, opposite of the blade, is stamped USA. If possible, find the individually wrapped ones. If I have ones not stamped USA, I use those up first or give them away.

I also like to look for them at garage/estate sales. I like unused non-rusted packages made in USA. Cool vintage packaging is a bonus… as are price tags from long defunct stores on them…

This! I am regularly amazed at the great quality stuff I find at estate sales and the like for cheap, because most folks don't like "digging thru others peoples junk".
My wife had this attitude for years, but the past couple of years she's accompanied me on estate sale trips. She's had to admit that there's value at these places!

Thanks for the replies guys. And I agree there are awesome finds thru those channels. For this request, I was hoping for some input on new stock from current blade manufacturers of high quality that can be purchased through retailers.

I like these, they're my go to. If I buy a new scraper or something that comes with cheap **** blades I always replace them with these . . .

Don't know if they're the "best" :dunno:

I use the American Line (Sort of funny since as mentioned above they're made in Mexico) in autobody. We use these by the gross to cut masking plastic and also to scrape down runs (yea, it happens). They also make ones that they call super sharp which are blue in color how much sharper they truly are is a mystery.

Yea, but the ones I've got are in fact American Line but the blue color is the same. I got mine from McMaster-Carr the provider of all good things.
