Best slide hammer? Or is there one?

5lbs sounds too heavy. Could be unwieldy. I’ve used my slide hammer in all sorts of angles. I have the Snap On 2lb model. I’d start there and go bigger only for a specific application. Maybe if you are using it to pull out dents, 5lb would make sense.

2lb? 10lb is my default, and I have an oversized version too. LOL. 81100 for SG tool aid generally does "ask" that part to start moving.

I have a baby one like youre referencing, decent for pulling seals and similar. Most of the generic kits for general automotive use are 5lb.

^ I have the same OTC, which, IMO, is basically the default starter set for a 5lb slide hammer. I'm sure 10+ vendors, like GW, rebrand the same thing today and sell it for less. I've never dealt with OTC for parts, but they actually do have a huge catalog of replacement part numbers for stuff they sell. Dunno if they can actually supply it in less than three months, or at all, but you can say I need a #123456 when you call them and see.

What's nice is that OTC, and obviously others, make a lot of pullers, and accessories, for the 5/8-18 thread. Basically, you're only limited by your wallet.

I also have the "lighter duty" OTC 1/2-20 thread slide hammer that's probably a 3lb. They make a bunch of small attachments for it that are great for things like pilot bearings and seals.

Edit:
Here's the 1/2" They make a bunch of smaller puller attachments for this

I added this otc puller to my zoro wish list. Is there any good generic attachments worth having that are most useful? I don’t want to buy a bunch of **** ill never need but if there’s any that’s like a Philips head screwdriver you always need it then I’ll add it to my wish list

are there any attachments that honestly you should go snap on even though your using Taiwan otc setup maybe using a higher end us made attachment for some of them are worth it?
