I've been looking at something around the size(weight) of a festool cxs, just looking at my options.

I have a couple of Fein corded drills and drivers which I couldn't be happier with. If Fein made something smaller in cordless I'd buy it without hesitation.

Wanting something made in the US or Germany, I do like the CSX however do any other manufacturers have a brushless drill/driver of a similar size?

Thanks in advance,

Jacob

made in US will be difficult....
Made in Germany = Festool....
(Fein seems to have a 10,8 Volt tool in the pipeline though...)
the others are from China or Malaysia.
However the small brushless Bosch PS32 is nice or try the new Metabo:
without chuck only 122mm long (shortest tool on the market) and with a whopping 34NM...

Tell me more... Do you know when? I can wait.

Regarding the Bosch and Metabo, where are they made? Really like the Metabo.

Ok I shall wait and see

Thanks for the info, if I remember rightly you have an ascm also? How do you like it? Is it your top cordless? I would prefer to make compromise in size rather than quality, coo and brushless so perhaps I look into the ascm 14v...

I really like my hitachi 12v stuff. I have the drill impact driver and recip saw. Lots of power in a very compact package. Drives 3-1/2" screws in treated lumber no problem.

I have a great Porter-Cable screwdriver and impact driver set I got for less than $150 if I recall correctly.

Absolute, hands down king of hill, winner of the 12v tool line is Milwaukee.. The milwaukee 12v is brushed, milwaukee 12v fuel is brushless.. They have the most 12v tools available, as well as some of highest rated performance wise too.. I'm a recent dewalt convert.. I'm not a professional, just weekend warrior, BUT, I don't buy anything after doing a ton a research first.. My air tools have not been used since I bought m18 fuel impact driver..
Search youtube, there's a video of milwaukee's 12v fuel, 1/2" hammer drill out performing makita's 18v using an (in think) 18" long auger bit.. If u don't mind the fat handles ( I went with dewalts 12v line because of this) there isn't a 12v tool that will out perform the milwaukee.. They even have 4ah batteries available for them..
