I’m needing some Torx drivers in the smaller sizes (sub T-10 sizes). Who makes the best ones in your guys collective experience? While I’d prefer drivers, high quality insert bits are just fine as wel. These are kind of critical to be high quality since those small Torx heads are so easy to strip out in my experience.

Wiha, Wera or PB Swiss would be my only choice. Wiha has a more extensive lineup but Wera's handles are superior.

I prefer individual drivers over bits because bits impede your ability to get into tight spots. However it's still a good idea to have a set of bits.

I would not deviate from these three brands because a precision fit is critical for this small stuff.

The bits in the iFixit kit are durable and fit tightly. I've used the torx bits all the way down to T2 on smart watches and never had one slip or cam out. The handle is also excellent, with knurled grip area and a ball-bearing spinner.

Just an insane deal for $35 with a lifetime warranty.

I have Wiha. Easy to source and excellent quality. They have two styles of handles, regular or pico; I prefer the pico, but they are more $.

Just my $0.02......

You can't go wrong with either PBS Swiss or Wiha but expect to pay top $ for either of them (worth every cent though especially for quality IMHO).

But if you don't feel like spending a whole lot of $ though still don't want to pay cheap, you could also try....

CHANNEL LOCK ?

KLEIN ?

or even OEM TOOLS ?

I have that Channellock set. No swivel caps, but otherwise they seem pretty nice to me. However - put some rust coating on ASAP!

Mine rusted like crazy! I keep them in my unheated shop (well, unheated until I light the wood stove), so it's not the best environment. Still, I was shocked how fast they got rusty - and how badly.

After I cleaned them up I degreased and painted the shafts. That seems to have solved the issue. I also put a little fluid film on the tips. I've got lots of screwdrivers stored next to those Channellocks - none rusted like that.

As you can tell, what happened haunts me. I recall having them for a couple weeks at most, and only using one, before coming back to see them covered in rust. I was really disappointed.

I've got Wiha and Wera.

Mostly Wiha bits and Wera handled tools. Speaking of small Wera tools, their Advent calendar this year had a bunch of micro tools, quite a few were Torx. I fully admit to opening mine already.

This set stays with my gunsmithing gear. Super nice micro ratchet in there, too.

Another option is to buy the Wiha SoftFinish CentroFix Quick Release 1/4" Power Blade Handle and purchase the Wiha/PB Swiss/Wera T1 through T10 Torx power bits (lots of bit options).

Yep, the iFixit stuff is top-notch, and the kits are a screaming deal on all sorts of useful goodies for dealing with wee stuff.

But it's all bits, not individual drivers. Sometimes that makes a difference, sometimes not, but I think it is still important to have a set of drivers. Some things are hard to reach with a bit.

Just to let you guys know, I recently received a couple Wiha precision replacement screwdrivers. They aren't being made in Germany anymore (Poland now). I haven't used them enough to know if they are equal in quality to the rest of the German precision drivers I already have, but in general, Wiha quality has gone down a little as their products have left Germany one by one. My experience has mainly been with Wiha bits though. They moved production of those to mainly Vietnam, but also Taiwan. Maybe their screwdriver factory in Poland is more equal to what their German factories used to make. I don't know if Wiha makes much of anything in Germany anymore. Their website does show some items as still being made in Germany, but I have purchased a couple of those items recently and I received items that said Made in Vietnam on the packaging.

JradM......thanks so much for this important info!

It is always good to know about. Yes I also am disappointed in hearing about those particular Channel Lock tools rusting.

Again, thanks for posting and sharing.

ace10......thanks for posting and sharing this particular Wiha set, it looks awesome!

I definitely like the fact that it comes with that small nifty-handy 1/4" ratchet!

Yes, definitely a good price and good durable quality made, as mentioned above by a couple of members.

I just ordered this small 5-Torx set for $19.99!

(all ready have some PB Swiss, Wiha and OEM Tool torx, screwdriver sets, etc.)

Not bad....

T1 Torx? Good gravy, I had no idea such a teensy beensy little thing existed.

I've used down to T3, but I did not know there was anything smaller out there.

I have Wiha, Wera, and PB swiss (individual drivers, not bits). IMO you can't go wrong with any of them but I usually grab the PB Swiss.

I legitimately only need it for servicing the pocket clip on my pocket knives, but I’d rather have a decent assortment for whatever odds and ends I come across.

For your stated use of servicing pocket knives, I would recommend these wing handle drivers with the spinner at the top. K So long as you don't need smaller than T6. They also come in flag-handle for better access but they are un-balanced and not as fun to spin. Me regular handle precision drivers are wiha and the fit is excellent but like others have said, they're moving production for a lot of their stuff out of Germany and I think that the quality may be declining slightly. There's a big difference between my chip lifter that was made in West Germany and any of the new ones that I have. Fit and finish is noticeably better. However, my master set is about 50/50 of made in Germany and unmarked ones which I assume are made in Poland like somebody else said and they appear to be equal quality excepting my defective 5mm nutdriver which is too small.
