Best split ring pliers for fishing lures?

Does anyone have recommendations for high quality split ring pliers to use on the split rings on fishing lures? These would be mostly used to change the hooks on freshwater lures, so they need to work well on small split rings.

I've done some research and it seems like most products are getting very mixed reviews. Any advice or recomendations are appreciated. Even letting me know which ones to avoid will be helpful.

Thanks.

My friend is a long time fisherman, he always use his Gerber fishing pliers, I personally saw that, they are nice, stainless steel, they open quick and they have a nice nylon pouch. He recently receive as a gift a pair of Abel http://www.tackletour.com/reviewabelpliers.html (he said they are the best) but, he never use them, because they are expensive (WTF?) I saw that pliers also, they are black and BEAUTIFUL! If I would like fishing, and got money (big money) probably I would buy them. Life is for enjoy the good things: Work, make love, fishing, and use good tools.:beer2:

Can I ask a dumb question?

What fishing lures need split ring pliers?

If you look at a lure like a Rapala minnow, you will see what I mean.

The split rings are usually really small and hold the hooks onto the lure. I have some old lures with broken and corroded hooks that I want to replace. Some people also like to use different size hooks than what comes with the lure.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, keep them coming.

One pair I have thought about is this one from Texas Tackle:

i use a pair similar to these(different brand), but the wedge is slightly bigger on the set i have. they work perfectly for standard freshwater sized smaller split rings, up to larger trolling spoon split rings. i recommend them over the hooked end type, which for me anyway, are less controllable. use mine mostly for steelhead plugs, as after a fish or two, the trebles get mangle pretty good. and most lures come with mediocre hooks at best.

I own a pair of those Texas Tackle pliers. They seem to be the best I've used so far.
