First off this is my first post after lurking on here for a while. Love the site. So I have some fencing that is starting to give me issues with boards coming loose at the bottom. I am hoping to find some good options for cordless staplers that will shoot a 1 1/2" or a little longer staple. Would consider air powered also if that is a much better option. Thanks!

Duo fast are go to for pros but I wouldn't think for a handful of boards ,that would make economic sense. How about a box of deck screws and some pre drilled pilot holes so you don't split the pickets?

I personally used screws because that is my preference due to holding power and their ability to withstand the harsh exterior conditions. Any of the three Fastener types will do just fine. If you are set on doing Staples I would suggest using either a narrow or medium Crown stapler. The key would be to get something coated for exterior use or stainless steel. I'm not sure how widely available those two types of Staples are though.

I am not personally aware of any narrow crown staplers or medium Crown stapler that are cordless. I have a Harbor Freight narrow Crown stapler that works decent and a Porter-Cable medium Crown stapler that works excellent.

The biggest factor I would say for exterior use this to make sure you have Fasteners rated for that purpose.

Ending up with a Ryobi 18v narrow crown stapler. Fencing people used way to short a staple. I'm going with a 1 1/2 inch. Will let you know how it works out.

IVe had a bostitch narrow crown stapler that I use 1 1/2” almost exclusively. It shot 1000s of staples... no complaints but it is pneumatic.

Well I have to say it worked like a charm. Shot around 100 staples and it didn't miss a single one. Tried it out on a spare composite board before I started to get depth right. I paid $240 for the gun, charger, 2 batteries and 1000 1 1/2" galvanized staples. I say so far money well spent as I have 450" of fence to take care of.
