Thanks for you advise guys.

Loaded up on the Toughboxes and Monoflo containers and HD. Used up my last $50 coupons, they came out at $7 and $4.50 respectively.

Home depot had comparable Monoflo containers to the Costco ones, but they were not transparent. At the price, I couldn't care less.

We bought a few 35 gallon Rubbermaid Roughnecks from Walmart when they had 6 pack deals on sale. They fit our 36" deep pallet racking perfectly, 5 wide two high per shelf with about 6" space left front and rear.

I've stocked myself up well with the toughboxes thanks to your advise.

Today, I go to Costco...

I got mine for about a dollar less at HD by using the 50 off 100 coupon, but of those that might need one, this might be a good chance to get one.

They have similar boxes at WalMart I saw also. I don't remember the price offhand, though.

Wally world DID have two sizes though, I think a 20 gallon and a 27 gallon

Should've looked at this thread this morning before I went Organizer shopping with my wife today.

I haven't had too much trouble with any totes beaking or cracking unless I dropped them. My key thing is I like them to be clear so you can see what's in them. And, I like for them to be uniformly sized. Even if they are different heights, they just look a lot better when they are the same footprint. Unfortunately, once you start using a certain tote, the store may not have the same one when you need more!

LOL at new guy digging up an 8 yo thread.....

OK, here's a tip that's on topic. Plastic cat litter buckets. We use the Tidy Cat litter that comes in a bucket with a snap tight lid. You can stack them, store charcoal in them outside and it will stay dry, great for bungee cords, tie downs, spent brass from the range, etc. I had to throw out 12 of them I had been saving before I moved.
If you don't have a cat, ask around. You would be surprised at how many people save and use these things.

I also use a lot of these flip-top bins.
Not the box store ones, but the industrial grade ones the stores use for merchandise deliveries. They are thicker material, come in various sizes and depths, have stronger lids, tougher hinges and accommodations for a padlock/security tie also.

Most are stamped with original owner warnings, but all of mine have been purchased legitimately at auctions or through C/L redistribution of large auction lots.

I just got a bunch of those, too. My client used to use them for spare parts storage and is going to a roller shelf inventory system. They told us to toss'em. We all got a LOT. Now they're tossing the 36" x 24" x 84" cabinets they used to keep them in. Gonna snag two to put the bins in...

Another vote for this container. I’ve tried plenty of others but these actually standup to a beating. I probably have at least 15 of those and have not had any breakdown or crack. Also great for stacking.
My only issue with these is they aren't even close to watertight. From a mould-making perspective it isn't a big fix, and a shop I used to work at made a mould for those I wasn't involved on that it was wrapping up when I started there [I don't know which size they made there are a few, I have 2 different sizes at home [I bought them awhile back] for outdoor things and they created more work than leaving the $#!+ laying around and every time I touched them the mosquitos went everywhere blood thirsty B@$+@rds, Literally!
They are tough though. Harry

Yikes. Never left mine outside or in the elements. Those folding top lids would be totally useless in you application.
How about one of these. Mine keeps everything dry and out of sight.
