Larson has great service. My house came with a very old, custom sized Larson door. The closers were broken, keys were gone, and the latch was failing. They had everything I needed, in the color scheme I wanted, and prices were very reasonable.

Regardless of brand, has anyone painted their storm door? We'll be replacing our storm door and side lites next year, and all will be bright red along with the entry door. But Larson and Pella don't have a decent color we'd like to use as a match, and I don't think they recommend painting their doors.

I have the Andersen 4000 series storm doors from Home Depot. Awesome doors. I special ordered them from HD with security glass and a three point locking system. I then special ordered a Schlage keyway direct from Andersen so I could have the storm doors keyed the same as the entry doors (they come with a Kwikset keyway). Highly recommended.

Some reviews of those complain that there's no strike plate, so the latch only catches on a notch in the frame itself. This apparently leads to the door not closing tightly. Does the 3-point lock fix this, or is it the same?

I've got 3 of these doors and each came with 3 strike plates. One in the middle of the door, and one each for the upper and lower latches. The strike plate in the middle of the door has two openings, one for the regular latch and one for the deadbolt. I don't have issues with any of my 3 doors closing tightly.
