I feel funny recommending an off-brand as the "best", but my favorite stubby ratchets are my Titan gearless. I don't trust a gearless to put a pipe extension on, but nobody is cranking hard on a stubby, and when I'm reaching for a stubby, I want as fine a tooth as possible.

Not sure of any "new" matco stubbies but if you mean the micro ratchets, they're very nice. Just be aware they're Taiwan. The Hazet is also nice (own it as well) very comfy. It doesn't like torque though. Used it to back up a nut while I took a screw out with my small battery impact and it immediately kicked the lever into a neutral position.

Never used facom but I will check them out and I was talking about the matco micro ratchets as this will be used mostly in low torque applications as interior work under dash I would prefer fine tooth but comfortable in the hands is priority and yes this will be 1/4 drive
