Best Tamper Proof Outlet?

I've done a search and can't find a recent thread on this. I am finishing my basement and need to put in about 30 tamper resistant outlets. I know that the old ones gave people a lot of problems, but is there a particular brand that seems better than the others?

I am looking for decora-style, if that makes a difference.

Not decora but I just installed several tamper proof outlets in my new pole barn with no issues. I was hesitant but they work fine. Leviton from Home Depot

Personally, I like to use an outlet that uses a screw and clamp backwire. (There is a metal plate behind the screws on the side. You stick the stripped wire straght in the back and as you tighten the screws the metal plate clamps the wire in place

Better connection than your typical 'back stab' type outlet and it makes it real easy to connect 4 wires. Usually you have to look at the commercial/industrial grade outlets and they are around $5 each. Here is an example from Lowes

It does seem like the ones they make now are much better than they were a few years ago. From playing with them at the home store, Pass and Seymour's feel better than Leviton's, plus they use black shutters so they look better.

I have the Leviton preferred outlets from Home Depot in my house and I have not had issues inserting plugs.

I bought a 50 pack of Decora TR receptacles for $65 on Ebay 2 years ago when remodeling my house. The cheap made in china ones. They work fine. When I installed them, I took a beefy power cord with me and inserted it into each plug a few times with some force. It loosened up the mechanisms and I haven't had any problems with them.

Yes on both counts. And I have three little ones in my house so I don't have an issue with the code.

Bought a Leviton preferred and a Legrand today to play with. Both are better than the rest in my house now. It seems like these outlets have come a long way.

The Leviton are USA made so I'll probably buy those.

Leviton but not from HD. I swear they get their own run. The Leviton's are so much nicer at the Electrical parts house but more expensive and not always the case. Hubbell is the best but be prepared to pay through the nose for them
