Two 99 ZR 600 sleds on a nice aluminum trailer... Called no one out there yet. Decided to pass until pics posted. Pics were posted and one was a 2000 Millennium Edition ZR 600 and the other was a 2003 F7. Sold the package for $1500.00. Guy that bought it wanted the trailer and sold the sleds. He made about $4500 off of them.

Plenty of things but most recently was something similar. 3/4" drive Plomb socket set with breaker bar for 80.00

Guy had no idea what he was selling and listed it as "old socket set". I've also missed a complete Plomb toolbox full of mint Plomb tools, 50.00

CL is great for getting deals and raising your blood pressure

There's no way you should've waited to call, esp six hours. :headscrat

I would've texted him as soon as you saw it(too early to call) and emailed him. :3gears:
I reconized the number as a home number, should of emailed. I coulda called at 8:30 when finishing up my first service call, but got bombarded by incoming calls and forgot, my own fault.

My white whale (aka the Millermatic 200) has eluded me several times on CL. My buddy got one for $50 at an auction some years ago which sort of set the stage for my bad luck with this machine.

Anyway , the thing that kills me is when people do not post their #'s in the ad:mad:????? Do the damn "three 4 two" thing people. I loathe it when you get the "sorry it's been sold" email when you know you were the first guy to send him an email.

I occasionally sell on CL and i do not post my phone number due to the volume of junk calls i will get from telemarketers. Programs will skim ads and capture numbers. Google Voice is your friend on CL. Use a number until an item is sold, then turn it off or make a new one.

If you send me an email, you get first preference. I always tell others that have responded what is going on. They usually admire the honesty and understand that CL is about being quick on the draw.

Those who wait around or only check CL once in a while get to post their "just missed it" stories on here:D

I've lost out on a ton of things on Craigslist. I just got an app that alerts me on any keyword I choose. I've been able to be in contact with a poster within minutes of them posting the add.
It's kinda cheating, but it works.

Airplane for about 1/2 what it was worth - I thought it must have been a scam.

When I finally got time to call the guy said he just sold it - apparently everyone else thought it was a scam too - he said he just wanted to practically give it away to someone that would use it - but nobody called for a week...

By then 2 diff folks had driven the hour from Houston to look.
Needless to say the vise was long gone by the time I called!

Missed a 3 tier Craftsman box LOADED with tools, nice autodark welding helmet, and probably close to 20 GIANT pipe wrenches. $100 for all of it.

He posted it at night and I called him at 6 am (he said to) and it was gone.

I missed a Snap On Portapower kit with at least half a dozen rams, listed for $25.
Missed it by minutes. I was headed towards his house and had just spoken to him. Less than 5 blocks away my cell rings, saying he had sold it to someone else.

Don't worry...I got that one for you!......Just kidding, but I did get a 3 1/2" one for $35. Seller realized he had under priced it after getting dozens of calls.

Might have been the same one and I'm mis-remembering the price, I think it was out in St Clair Shores a month or two ago. If so, I'm declaring war! I'll cut your internet cable and then no more CL for you!

New Snap-on wrench sets 7-32 mm is $1400 , 1/4-1-5/8 is $1630 , 1/2 drive deep impact set 10-24 is $390, 1/2 drive deep crome set 3/8-1-1/8 is $424, 3/8 general service set is $2000, 5 swivel head ratchets at $45 each and a new screwdriver set that is $145.

I missed all this stuff for $1600, I emailed the guy multiple times within an hour of posting, no number left. Took him five days to reply to me that he still had all of it, but still didn't leave a way to get a hold of him. The next email said it was all sold two days later. I asked why he didn't get back to me and he said I was about 25th guy in line. Pretty much ment to me he took the last email at the top of his in box! :shocking:

Im still mad about it!

For every one good deal I miss out on I've made up with at least three big scores on ye 'ole CL. My favorite being the score where when you get in your car and pull out of his/her driveway you tuck your elbow down to your side, make a fist and begin to do the Tiger Woods celebration.
