Best tire inflator out there ?

I'm looking for the perfect tire inflator for my compressor...
You'd think this would be a gimme, head to the local FLAPS, buy one...
I'm on my 5th one... They have been inaccurate, unable to sit on the valve correctly (more innacuracies or no inflation), and my favorite: designed at an angle to that the little lever that locks it on the tire stem snaps right onto your wheel and scratches the finish.

So now I'm ready to pay-to-play, price no issue. Please recommend a good gauge/inflator for a compressor that is accurate, and connects straight to the stem with a good connection and no chance to hurt my wheels any further... I'll be grateful !

Sorry, I searched a bit but got more tire pressure gauges and discontinued items than anything, so please humor me ;-) Thanks !

Just buy decent tire chuck, then buy quality tire pressure gauge.

I've got the Blue Point version of that Milton. They retail for about 4x the price, but I think I paid more like $20 on eBay.
The sight glass with the numbers makes it a little hard to read the exact pressure, as it reads differently depending on the angle your eye makes to the handle, but it is FAR superior to any of the stick style inflaters, and I really like the swiveling hose.

I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't have a deflation port though (the Amflo inflater has that, but I hate that stick gauge).

Mine has the deflation port. And so do all the other Miltons I have seen. Must be a Blue Point thing.

Edit.... I see some of the lower priced Milton gages don't have the port. I gave the wrong link.

I bought the C3 inflator from Sears that uses the same battery as my cordless impact, and actually like it pretty well. Not real fast, but easy and no hose.

Hose type maybe Longacre.

Great, thanks all... I'm gonna go with the intercomp one, based on the pressure range options (better legibility0-60 PSI, heck 0-40 is all I need) and presence of a real gauge. I don't much care for the "graduated rod sticking out" kind, those may be good but I like a gauge/needle for the money. At $130 I will also have an incentive to not drag it around the floor or chuck it out of the way ;-) Thanks again !

I have tried alot of those on the market, I keep going back to a gauge and chuck. I can buy every kind of gauge and chuck for all my vehicles and also a calibrated master gauge that only gets used for checking other gauges. They cost like 15 bucks. I work at a tire shop, so I need to have good tire inflation equipment. No one product works for everything so I need it all, I have a drawer in my box dedicated to chucks and gauges.

I like the one that I got from NAPA. It's like the old ones at a filling station. It has a stick type gauge that pops out. No leaks and it seems accurate.

Blue point TPGDL1000. All my measurement tools are calibrated and certified yearly at work and this one has never failed me. Dead accurate every time. It comes with two attachments, the dual foot chuck, then a single chuck similar to what a tire machine uses. The second one is the one I use and have never had a problem filling any tires.

Only reservation is the 4" gauge is a monstrosity. 2.5" 60 psi has enough resolution for me to clearly see 1/2 psi increments, but they don't give you that option with this fill/bleed tool. You could probably swap the gauges out yourself, but when you're spending this kinda money.... Anyway, I've been happy with it and keep a second analog gauge to check the accuracy from time to time. No problems but it's only been <1 year (course both analog gauges could be out...then I'd never know :p)

Just a quick follow up. My intercomp gauge on this inflator is now out by 4 psi. I don't know what happened, but I know I didn't knock it around. It seemed like it gradually strayed from the reading on my other analog gauge, so I got a calibrated snap on gauge (the kind with the fish eye glass) to compare it to (not knowing which of the two analog gauges went out). Reads 4 psi high now. :(

Don't skewer me, but I have the HF version of the milton and it has worked fine. The gage always seems as good as my manual pressure gages. of course I am just using it at home 1-2 times a week.
