So the KRA's with roller bearings are just ok or??? These are the 2 I was looking at.

If I got the Heritage version, I planned on getting the top as well. If I got the Classis version, I would only get the bottom at first then at the top later.

This would be the comparable KRL as far as I can tell. Is it REALLY worth the extra $$? Durability is way more important to me than asthetics.

You will be ALOT more happier with the Krl!

If you have never seen the 2 side by side you really must to understand.

Well I guess I may hold out. I'll have to check 'em out in person. Maybe I'll buy a POS for now until I can justify the nicer box? /ponders....

I haven't used either, so maybe someone can help me understand why it would be better to buy a KRA over a Lista, except the KRA can be a trade in on another box at a far higher price than a Lista typically can be sold. Of course, for the difference in prices I could buy two (or three) Listas for one KRL.

I work for a Major semiconductor manufacturing company and the tool boxes we use for equipment maintenance in a Clean Room Environment.

  • Lista Cabinets, stationary & mobile
  • Snap On KRL cabinets

Drawers: Both cabinets have a safety feature that do not allow multiple drawers to opened at the same time. Both have great Safety Features.:bounce:

The Lista cabinets have smoother drawer action than the Snap On. To open the Lista drawers requires slight force to open and the Snap On has a plastic slider under the drawer handle/lip that needs to be moved to unlock the drawer. This plastic slider wears out and becomes a pain to deal with. Although repair parts are easily ordered, but a tool box that is deemed superior should not have this issue. Lista Has the better drawers.

Mobility: When the tool boxes are filled with tools they are very heavy! Both boxes have mobility and allow movement when needed. Tie for mobility.:bounce:

Drawer Organization: The Snap On tool box has multiple shallow drawers for better tool organization. It is easier to have tools in a shallow drawer for easy identification and access. Lista cabinet drawers are deeper and tools are at the bottom of the drawer which requires more stretching to reach. Ergo design, Snap On wins.

Fit and Finish: Both drawers are very clean, they are great performers in a Class 1 clean room. The paint on the Snap On has more shine the Lista is more of a flat finish. Tie:bounce:

Bling: Snap on has more Bling, a Snap On tool box with snap on tools always rule, a Lista Cabinet is filled with Snap On Tools just doesn't have the same Bling, but close. Snap On wins:thumbup:

My feelings:
  • Lista cabinets appear to be a storage system, we use them to store large equipment fixtures and testing equipment. The moble tool carts are used for tool storage and moble for equipment repair.
  • Snap On tool boxes are used for moble tool carts and contain tools for equipment repair only. They are not used as storage.

They are both good, I think it comes down to your needs, storage or tool cart/chest mobility.

Lista can be ordered however you want it. If the drawers are too deep, that's the fault of the person that ordered them, not Lista.
